OPENAI MAKES A DEAL WITH MICKEY MOUSE 🐭
What’s up? Disney and OpenAI have entered a three-year partnership that brings Disney’s iconic characters to Sora, enabling fans to generate their own short-form videos of classic characters using AI.
Want the details? Under the agreement, Sora will be able to create user-prompted social videos featuring more than 200 characters across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, along with their worlds, props, and vehicles. A curated selection of these fan-inspired videos will also stream on Disney+. ChatGPT will generate still images from the same library of characters, while excluding talent likenesses and voices. Beyond licensing, Disney will use OpenAI’s APIs to build new tools and experiences, including for Disney+, and will deploy ChatGPT internally. Disney will also invest $1 billion in OpenAI and receive warrants for additional equity.

What’s up? OpenAI is launching GPT-5.2, its most powerful AI model yet for professional knowledge work.
Want some details? GPT-5.2 is built to act like a super-capable digital coworker. It’s much better than earlier models at turning rough ideas into polished spreadsheets, slide decks, code, and documents, and at understanding long files like reports or contracts. On independent tests, it matches or beats human experts on many well-defined tasks across dozens of jobs, while working far faster and cheaper than a professional.
Why is this significant? After Google’s Gemini 3 release, OpenAI declared “code red,” focusing all its attention on improving ChatGPT. This is the result of that effort. But before you yell at us about changing the singularity meter, we will see how the public responds to this update.
