What are Musk and Altman fighting about?

Good morning! AI is moving so quickly, but we are moving quicker. Let’s check out the latest together. 🏃♀️

MUSK AND ALTMAN FIGHT OVER APP STORE DRAMA 🤺
This is a remarkable claim given what I have heard alleged that Elon does to manipulate X to benefit himself and his own companies and harm his competitors and people he doesn't like.
— Sam Altman (@sama)

What happened? Elon Musk claimed that the App Store unfairly favors OpenAI’s ChatGPT over rival AI apps, like Grok and X. This led to a public spat on X (above) between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. After a few hours of fighting, Apple denied that claim, insisting its platform is “free and fair of bias.” Apple, which partnered with OpenAI in 2024, says it promotes thousands of apps based on objective criteria, pointing to the success of AI rivals like DeepSeek and Perplexity in its charts.
ANTHROPIC EXPANDS CLAUDE’S CONTEXT WINDOW TO 1 MILLION TOKENS 🙌
Claude Sonnet 4 now supports 1 million tokens of context on the Anthropic API—a 5x increase.
Process over 75,000 lines of code or hundreds of documents in a single request.

What’s new? Anthropic has expanded the context window for its Claude Sonnet 4 AI model to 1 million tokens, allowing enterprise customers to send prompts up to 750,000 words or 75,000 lines of code—more than triple the capacity of OpenAI’s GPT-5.
Want the details? A “context window” is how much information an AI can consider in a single request. By raising Claude Sonnet 4’s limit from 200,000 to 1 million tokens, Anthropic enables developers to feed the model entire codebases, lengthy documents, or complex multi-step instructions without losing context. This upgrade is available through Anthropic’s API and cloud partners like Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI. The change is aimed at keeping Claude competitive in the lucrative AI coding market, where platforms like GitHub Copilot and Cursor rely on large-context AI for long, complex programming tasks.
NEW STUDY SHOWS HOW AI IS DESKILLING DOCTORS 🩺
What’s up? A new study in The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology suggests that using AI to help during colonoscopies may actually weaken doctors’ ability to spot precancerous growths when AI is not present.
Want the details? Colonoscopy is a key tool for preventing bowel cancer by detecting and removing adenomas. AI-assisted systems have been celebrated for boosting detection rates, but researchers in Poland found a downside: after regular AI use was introduced, doctors’ adenoma detection rate without AI dropped from 28.4% to 22.4%, a 20% relative decrease. The study, involving over 1,400 non-AI procedures and 19 experienced endoscopists, is the first to show a potential “deskilling” effect from AI in a real-world clinical setting.
Why is this significant? These findings raise important questions about the unintended consequences of medical AI. While AI can improve accuracy, it may also erode fundamental skills over time—making it essential to study how humans and AI work together and ensure both remain sharp.
“To our knowledge this is the first study to suggest a negative impact of regular AI use on healthcare professionals’ ability to complete a patient-relevant task in medicine of any kind. Our results are concerning given the adoption of AI in medicine is rapidly spreading. We urgently need more research into the impact of AI on health professional's skills across different medical fields. We need to find out which factors may cause or contribute to problems when healthcare professionals and AI systems don't work well together, and to develop ways to fix or improve these interactions.”
