🛠️ NEW AI TOOLS 🛠️
What’s cookin’? Apple unveiled Siri AI, a rebuilt version of Siri that is more conversational, more personalized, and able to work across Apple devices and apps.
How does it work? Siri AI uses Apple Intelligence to understand what is on your screen, pull helpful details from your messages, email, photos, and apps, and answer questions with more natural back-and-forth conversation. It can also help write and edit text, understand images, and even respond to what your camera sees. Apple says it runs both on-device and through its Private Cloud Compute system, which is designed to protect user privacy. A new Siri app will also let people continue conversations across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.
🤔 Hunter’s take: Apple promised a new Siri back in early 2024, and after many years of breaking that promise, it looks like they are finally going to deliver. This will turn boring old Siri into something closer to a true AI helper. If it works well, it could make everyday tasks faster and easier while giving Apple a stronger answer to the AI tools offered by rivals.

What happened? Apple has previewed new child safety features that will give parents more control over what their kids can see, who they can talk to, and when they can use apps.
What are the new features?
Child Account Setup: Parents can more easily create a child account, which turns on age-appropriate protections across the device.
App Access Controls: Parents can choose which apps their child can use from the beginning and add more over time.
Ask to Browse: Children can be required to get permission before visiting a new website in Safari.
Communication Approval: Parents can control who their children can contact through Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, and require approval for new contacts.
Expanded Communication Safety: Apple will now detect and help block graphic or violent content in shared images and videos.
Time Allowances: Parents can set limits for categories of apps, such as games, entertainment, and social media.
Schedules: Parents can decide which apps are available at certain times of day, such as during school or meals.
Redesigned Screen Time: The updated Screen Time gives parents a clearer, quicker view of device usage and the apps their child uses most.
🤔 Hunter’s take: Many parents want simple ways to help kids use technology safely without banning it altogether. Apple is trying to make digital safety more practical, flexible, and easier to manage. After some of the harm AI has done to children, it’s good to see some safety features being put in place so parents can better monitor these interactions.
