AI LETS YOU STAR IN YOUR FAVORITE CRIME SHOW 🎬
Ever wish you could be a character inside your favorite crime show? Well, put down the popcorn because AI is making that possible. 🍿
What’s new? Elliot Wolf, son of Law & Order creator Dick Wolf, has created a company called Wolf Games that is looking to launch interactive, AI-driven games. The first game will be Public Eye, an AI-driven murder mystery game designed for true crime fans.
Want the details? Set in a dystopian future where crime is out of control, Public Eye lets players investigate cases, gather clues, and use AI assistance to crack mysteries. To generate daily stories, the game’s AI pulls inspiration from real headlines, similar to how Law & Order crafts its fictional cases. AI also helps create interview clips and crime scene images, ensuring continuity in character details. Backed by major investors, Public Eye is set to launch this summer as a free-to-play web game with optional purchases. Players can join the waitlist now.
OPENAI RELEASES NEW TOOLS FOR BUILDING AI AGENTS 🦾
We are one step closer to AI doing all of our work for us! 🙃
What’s new? OpenAI has launched new tools to help developers and businesses build AI agents—automated systems that can handle tasks like searching the web, scanning company files, and navigating websites. These tools are part of OpenAI’s new Responses API, replacing the previous Assistants API, which will be phased out by 2026.
Want the details? AI agents have been hyped for years, but few companies have delivered on their potential. With Responses API, OpenAI gives developers access to the same AI technology powering tools in ChatGPT like Operator and Deep Research, which allow users to browse the web and summarize information about any topic.
“With [these] releases, we’re introducing the first building blocks to empower developers and enterprises to more easily build, deploy, and scale reliable, high-performing AI agents … Our goal is to give developers a seamless platform experience for building agents that can help with a variety of tasks across any industry. We’re excited to see what developers build next.”
Why should you care? AI agents are the latest push from big tech companies. If these agents are successful and the resources for developing these agents become more publicly available, it will mean that many of the tedious tasks you have to do on your computer or for work may soon be taken care of by AI. This could free you up to focus on more meaningful endeavors and avoid the frustration of onerous tasks like searching the web for information, taking notes during meetings, or filling out loads of paperwork.
GOOGLE GIVES DEVELOPERS A NEW TOY 🤓
Attention nerds: You have new toys to play with! 🚨
What’s up? Google has introduced Gemma 3, the latest in its line of AI models, designed to help developers create applications that run efficiently on a range of devices—from smartphones to powerful workstations. Google has also introduced ShieldGemma 2, designed to detect harmful content in AI models’ text inputs and outputs.
What are the new features?
Better Performance on Less Hardware: Unlike many AI models that require massive computing power, Gemma 3 can run on a single GPU, making it more accessible for small businesses and independent researchers.
Multimodal Abilities: Gemma 3 can analyze text, images, and short videos, expanding its use for different AI applications.
Improved Vision: The upgraded vision encoder supports high-resolution and non-square images, meaning it can better understand and process diverse visual content.
Stronger Safety Features: The new ShieldGemma 2 classifier helps filter explicit, dangerous, or violent content in both image inputs and outputs. This helps developers refine their models to ensure safety.
Why does this matter? The average Joe may not use Gemma 3 directly, but this tool will allow developers to more easily create the cool AI tools and applications that we can use to make our lives easier and our work more efficient.
TASTE-TEST THURSDAY 🍽️
If they are high-quality, would you care if all TV shows and movies were created with AI?(Leave a comment explaining your response, and we might feature it tomorrow with the results.) |
