SAM ALTMAN SAYS CHAT-GPT IS “EMBARRASSING AT BEST” 😳

If ChatGPT is embarrassing, then my ketchup stains are nothing! 🍟

What’s up? Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, made some comments in a Q&A at Stanford University that are shaking up the AI world.

What did he say? In this interview, Altman made two enormously significant comments:

“ChatGPT is not phenomenal. ChatGPT is mildly embarrassing at best. GPT-4 is the dumbest model any of you will ever have to use again, by a lot.”

This comment comes amidst the backdrop of ChatGPT garnering over 180 million users, and foreshadows the coming of models that will blow our wildest imaginations.

“Whether we burn 500 million a year or 5 billion or 50 billion a year, I don’t care—I genuinely don’t … we are making AGI. It’s going to be expensive, but it’s totally worth it.”

This comment goes to show how much financial leverage these big tech companies have over the market and how invested they are in the future of AI. It also shows how insignificant copyright crackdowns truly are on such companies.

GOOGLE SEARCH INTEGRATES NEW GEMINI FEATURE 👨‍💻

Is the phrase, “Just Google it” being replaced by, “Ask ChatGPT”? 🤔

What’s new? Google has begun rolling out a new feature that integrates Gemini directly into the Google Chrome search bar.

How does it work? Users can seamlessly engage with Google’s chatbot by typing @ into the address bar, selecting “Chat with Gemini,” and entering a prompt. This new feature follows the integration of Gemini-powered summaries for searches, displayed at the top of the search results.

What’s the significance? Many people are turning away from traditional search engines like Google in favor of chatbots such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. Sifting through search results is not as convenient as getting quick, summarized answers to questions. This new integration of Gemini is a continued attempt from Google to integrate AI capabilities into their search experience, a necessary feature going forward. Rumors are also spreading that OpenAI will release a ChatGPT-powered search engine later this week, so Google is feeling extra pressure.

WARREN BUFFETT VOICES CONCERNS ABOUT AI SCAMS 😬

Am I the only one who gets hungry when I hear about Warren “Buffet”t? 🍔

What happened? During Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder meeting, Warren Buffett spoke out about the potential risks and benefits of AI, cautioning that while “AI has enormous potential for good,” it also has “enormous potential for harm.”

Why is he concerned? Buffett pointed to the potential of AI to produce highly realistic and misleading content that could deceive people into providing personal information or giving money to scammers. In this way, Buffett compared the power of AI to the creation of nuclear weapons, emphasizing the challenge of controlling such powerful technologies once they are “out of the bottle.” He stated, “If I was interested in investing in scamming, it’s gonna be the growth industry of all time, and its enabled [by AI].”

“We let the genie out of the bottle when we developed nuclear weapons and that genie has been doing some terrible things lately, and the power of that genie is what scares the hell out of me … I don’t know any way to get the genie back in the bottle, and AI is somewhat similar. It’s part of the way out of the bottle, and ... whether it’s going to change the future of society, we will find out later.”
