OPENAI INTRODUCES CODEX 👩‍💻

Is AI helping coders or slowly putting an end to coding altogether? 👀

What’s new? OpenAI has launched Codex, a powerful AI coding agent that can tackle software engineering tasks like writing features, fixing bugs, and answering code questions—all from within ChatGPT. It is now available for pro, enterprise, and team users.

How does this work? Codex lives in the cloud and works like an AI teammate for developers. You can assign it tasks—like refactoring code or generating pull requests—directly from the ChatGPT sidebar. Each task runs in its own isolated environment, already loaded with your codebase. Codex analyzes your files, runs tests, and logs its actions so you can trace every step. It even uses special instruction files to better understand how your project is set up and how to follow your coding style.

Why does this matter? Codex could save developers huge amounts of time by handling routine or complex coding tasks in the background, letting them focus on bigger problems. It also opens the door for small teams to build software more efficiently—with the help of AI that understands and writes code like a human.

U.S. MAKES HUGE AI CHIP DEAL WITH UAE 🤝

AI chips are hotter than crispy French fries these days! 🍟

What happened? The U.S. is nearing a deal to allow the United Arab Emirates to import up to 500,000 of Nvidia’s top AI chips each year starting in 2025. This is part of the newly forged US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership.

Want the details? This draft agreement would lift previous export limits and permit UAE firms like G42—backed by U.S. and Emirati investors—to access powerful Nvidia chips such as the Blackwell and Rubin GPUs. About 100,000 chips would go to G42, while the rest would support U.S. companies like Microsoft and Oracle in their Gulf-region data centers. As a condition, for every AI data center built in the UAE, another must be built in the U.S. The deal could run through 2027, possibly extending to 2030.

“This shift enables [the UAE] to deepen its technology partnership with the U.S.”

NETFLIX TESTS CONVERSATIONAL AI SEARCH 🍿

I just finished watching a weather documentary on Netflix. I really enjoyed all four seasons. ☀️

What’s New? Among a rollout of new features, Netflix has started testing an AI-powered search feature that lets users find shows using specific, conversational prompts.

How will this work? Instead of just searching by title, actor, or genre, users can now ask for shows based on mood or detailed preferences—like “funny thrillers with a strong female lead” or “something relaxing to watch after work.” The new AI search is available on iOS for some users in Australia and New Zealand, with plans to expand to the U.S. soon. The feature is currently opt-in, so users can choose whether to try it, and Netflix says it’s still gathering feedback in this early test phase—so it might not be perfect right away. Along with AI search, Netflix is working on implementing vertical videos and trailers aimed at enhancing the mobile viewing experience.

Why should you care? This could make finding the right show a lot easier—especially for people who never know what to watch. By understanding natural language, AI search can personalize your viewing experience, helping Netflix stand out in the crowded streaming market.
