RUNWAY AND GETTY IMAGES STRIKE A DEAL 🤝

Video creation, one of the most rapidly evolving industries in AI, is getting a major upgrade! 🎥

What’s up? The famous AI video creation and editing tool, Runway, has inked a deal with Getty Images. This collaboration aims to deliver a “commercially safe” version of Runway’s text-to-video engine, catering to businesses seeking video innovation with robust defenses against copyright claims.

Why? As AI companies like Adobe and Getty Images emphasize training their generative AI engines on licensed content, Runway’s partnership with Getty specifically targets enterprises aiming to integrate their intellectual property with AI capabilities without the looming threat of legal repercussions. While specific details such as pricing and release date remain undisclosed, Runway CEO Cristóbal Valenzuela likens this Runway-Getty model to a prefabricated house, offering businesses a foundational structure that can be customized to suit their unique needs.

NVIDIA INSIDERS ARE UNLOADING SHARES 🤨

I could never take a job at Nvidia … The people there are way too “graphic.” 🤣

What’s going on? In a surprising move, executives and directors at Nvidia, the S&P 500’s best-performing company, have been offloading shares at an unprecedented rate, signaling a shift from the usual trend where corporate insiders bet on their own firms.

More info? Despite Nvidia's remarkable performance, with shares tripling in 2023, the stock has experienced a recent 6% dip since November 21. The company’s optimistic revenue forecast for the current quarter, driven by the soaring demand for AI computing chips, hasn't prevented insiders from cashing in on their gains. Data compiled by the Washington Service reveals that Nvidia insiders recently sold or expressed intent to sell approximately 370,000 shares, amounting to a staggering $180 million. This move marks the largest monthly disposal by dollar value in at least six years.

What does this mean? While it’s understandable for insiders to capitalize on a stellar run, the massive unloading of shares raises eyebrows. Does this mark an end for Nvidia’s dominance amidst chip bans and emerging companies like Rain AI? Nvidia says not, as representatives claim that the majority of sales are part of pre-established 10b5-1 plans, outlining prices, amounts, and dates in advance.

AI REVEALS BRAIN DIFFERENCES IN THOSE WITH ADHD 🧠

If you scanned my brain, all you would see is French fries. 🍟

What’s new? Researchers have developed and used an AI-powered method to analyze brain MRI scans and identified significant differences in white matter tracts in adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

What was the research? The research, part of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study, involved over 1,700 participants and utilized diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) alongside a deep-learning AI model. The findings revealed elevated fractional anisotropy (FA) values in nine specific white matter tracts in individuals with ADHD, presenting objective biomarkers for diagnosis.

What is the significance? This innovative approach represents a paradigm shift from subjective self-reported surveys, offering a quantitative method to diagnose ADHD. Justin Huynh, the study’s lead researcher, stated, “Many people feel that they have ADHD, but it is undiagnosed due to the subjective nature of the available diagnostic tests. This method provides a promising step towards finding imaging biomarkers that can be used to diagnose ADHD in a quantitative, objective diagnostic framework.”
