What is happening? TikTok is testing an AI-powered chatbot named “Tako.” Tako is designed to be your virtual companion within the TikTok world. With its witty responses and clever insights, Tako aims to entertain and assist users in navigating the vast sea of TikTok content, directing people to more personalized content as it learns their unique preferences.

What are the concerns? Because chatbot technology is so new, companies are opting to monitor user interactions and review them to help their bots improve as well as monitor for safety. But from the privacy standpoint of the user, that means the AI conversations are being stored along with their data, which could be quite concerning for some people, as we have seen in the past with Snapchat’s “My AI.” Many Snapchat users felt uncomfortable with the chatbot feature, remarking that it made them feel as if they were being “spied on,” which led to a record-breaking number of deletions of the app.

Why TikTok is implementing such a chatbot is questionable considering the backlash Snapchat faced for doing so, but nonetheless, maybe we will eventually get to witness some cool new robotic dance moves! 💃

Why is NVIDIA soaring? This impressive growth was primarily driven by the soaring demand for Nvidia's GPUs in various sectors, but particularly in the field of AI. The company's GPUs are widely recognized for their exceptional computing power, making them crucial components in AI applications like those at Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Due to this high demand and the rapid growth of AI, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said the company is poised for a “giant record year.” 📈
