MUSK AND ZUCKERBERG TO MEET WITH U.S. SENATE 🤝

There is going to be a super exclusive meeting between tech leaders and the U.S. Senate, and French fries may or may not be served. 🍟
What’s up? Chuck Schumer, the United States Senate Majority Leader, will host a bipartisan AI forum on September 13th in his office, with some of the world’s tech leaders invited.
Who is invited? Some of the invited guests include:
Elon Musk (Tesla CEO)
Mark Zuckerberg (Meta CEO)
Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO)
Sundar Pichai (Google CEO)
Satya Nadella (Microsoft CEO)
What is the purpose of the forum? The forum will include a discussion of possible rules and policies which could help the U.S. govern the safe use and development of generative AI and the risks of AI to national security. The impact of AI on the economy will also be addressed. Schumer remarked, "We need the best of the best sitting at the table: the top AI developers, executives, scientists, advocates, community leaders, workers, national security experts - all together in one room, doing years of work in a matter of months.”
OPEN-AI LAUNCHES “CHAT-GPT ENTERPRISE” 🙌

OpenAI is back in the headlines, and they are back in a big way. 🦾
What’s new? In their biggest launch since ChatGPT, OpenAI has launched “ChatGPT Enterprise,” a powerful tool set to transform the landscape of business communication. This business version of ChatGPT has been launched after development and testing with more than 20 companies spanning various industries and sizes, including prominent names like Block, Canva, and The Estée Lauder Cos.
What does ChatGPT Enterprise offer? ChatGPT Enterprise is introducing a new era of AI-driven interactions with no GPT-4 usage caps, performance that outpaces previous iterations by up to two times, and a generous allocation of API credits. Furthermore, this enterprise version empowers clients to fine-tune the AI using their own company data, paving the way for industry-specific and company-specific applications.
How will this transform business? According to OpenAI, 80% of Fortune 500 companies are already actively integrating ChatGPT into their workflows. The launch of ChatGPT Enterprise will enhance these operations significantly, satisfying the business world's demands for advanced AI solutions. OpenAI also plans to introduce another tier of usage called “ChatGPT Business,” which will be tailored towards smaller teams, but did not specify a timeline for launch.
THE AI-MEDIA COLD WAR HEATS UP 🥶

Q: Why was the cold war such a long period with little fighting?
A: Because the Russian President was “Stalin.” 😅
What’s happening? A cold war is taking place between AI data scrapers and media platforms, and the number of sources joining in is growing rapidly … but also quietly.
What are these companies doing? Several leading news outlets have taken preemptive steps to secure their platforms by embedding code into their websites that bars web crawlers and data scrapers, such as OpenAI's GPTBot, from scouring their platforms for content. Media giants such as CNN, The New York Times, and Reuters have openly adopted this strategy. However, a new review disclosed that other influential entities including Disney, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Axios, Insider, ABC News, ESPN, and the Gothamist (among others) have joined this movement.
What will happen next? The decision to prohibit AI data scraping and access underscores the growing concerns within news organizations about their proprietary archives and intellectual property rights being exploited to train AI models. Amid this tension, media organizations are contemplating their next move, many of whom are considering lawsuits and negotiations for compensation. In the evolving confrontation between newsrooms and companies like OpenAI, the underlying message is clear: the struggle to preserve human journalism is a battle that cannot be ignored for much longer.
