MICROSOFT BRINGS CLAUDE TO CLASSIC OFFICE APPS 📊
What’s up? Microsoft is turning to Anthropic’s AI to power new features in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, ending its exclusive reliance on OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology.
Want the details? Until now, Microsoft’s AI tools in Office apps were almost entirely built on OpenAI’s models, like ChatGPT. Now, Microsoft will also use Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4, which many say is better at tasks like designing clean, visually appealing PowerPoint slides and documents. This shift comes as Microsoft and OpenAI renegotiate their partnership and as both companies try to reduce their dependence on each other.
Why does this matter? For everyday users, this could mean Office apps that feel more helpful, creative, and polished. More broadly, it shows that even the biggest tech players don’t want to put all their eggs in one basket—competition among AI companies is heating up, and Microsoft wants options.
ROBLOX USES AI TO LEVEL UP 🎮
What’s up? Roblox, a popular online platform where people can both play and create games, announced a TikTok-style video feed called “Roblox Moments,” along with higher payouts for creators and new AI tools to make game building easier.
What are the new features? With Roblox Moments, players can record short clips of their gameplay (up to 30 seconds), add music or text, and share them in a scrollable feed similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels. Other users can watch, react with emojis, and even join the game directly from a clip. Roblox is also introducing AI features that let creators generate ready-to-use 3D items (like cars or weapons), translate voice chat in real time, and add voice-controlled gameplay commands. On top of that, creators will now earn more money when cashing out the virtual currency they make from their games.
Why is this significant? Roblox isn’t just a game—it’s a digital economy and creative platform. By boosting creator earnings, adding social video features, and simplifying game development with AI, Roblox is strengthening its ecosystem. These changes make it easier for players to connect, for creators to earn a living, and for the platform to compete with social media giants like TikTok and YouTube.
ALBANIAN GOV APPOINTS THE WORLD’S FIRST AI MINISTER 🤖
What’s up? Albania has appointed an AI program named Diella as the world’s first AI government “minister,” tasked with overseeing public tenders to curb corruption.
Want the details? Diella, which means “sun” in Albanian, is a virtual assistant originally launched in January on the e-Albania platform to help citizens obtain state documents. Since then, Diella has processed more than 36,600 digital documents and nearly 1,000 services. Now upgraded to a ministerial role, Diella will monitor and manage the tendering of public funds—an area long plagued by corruption scandals in Albania. Diella is designed to ensure all procedures are transparent and free from human manipulation.
Why is this significant? Political corruption has been one of Albania’s biggest barriers to joining the European Union. If Diella can deliver positive results, it could mark a breakthrough for the country. It could also set a precedent for how AI might be used for governance and digital transparency.
