CHAT-GPT GETS UPGRADED 🦾

ChatGPT is tired of chatbots trying to catch up, so it is getting an upgrade! ⬆️

What’s new? OpenAI’s ChatGPT is getting a slew of new updates.

What is rolling out? OpenAI is introducing a voice capability for ChatGPT which is underpinned by a cutting-edge text-to-speech model, capable of producing remarkably human-like audio from text inputs. OpenAI, in collaboration with professional voice actors, has crafted five distinct voices to bring the chatbot to life. Users can now interact with the chatbot, asking questions and receiving responses, creating a more immersive and engaging chat experience. This development puts ChatGPT in the same league with voice assistants like Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri. OpenAI is also introducing image-based prompts, allowing users to upload pictures and ask ChatGPT for assistance. Whether it's meal planning based on your fridge's contents or focusing on specific details within an image, ChatGPT is becoming a more versatile companion.

When will these features be available? These exciting features will roll out within the next two weeks for paying subscribers of ChatGPT's Plus and Enterprise services.

META’S NEW PERSONA-BASED CHATBOT 🤖

Amidst a world saturated with chatbots, Meta is adding a unique twist. 🤞

What’s happening? Meta is set to unveil an AI chatbot equipped with a range of distinct personas, aptly dubbed “Gen AI Personas.”

What is it? Meta's ambitious project includes the development of numerous AI characters for the chatbot. For example, there's “Bob,” a robot with a sharp wit and a touch of sarcasm, reminiscent of the beloved character Bender from the animated series, Futurama. Meta’s new chatbot, currently in an internal testing phase, promises to serve multiple purposes beyond mere entertainment. For instance, it aims to assist users with tasks such as coding while keeping them engaged.

Why? This move is part of Meta's strategy to attract a younger audience to its platform and set itself apart from other similar tools. It is expected to be showcased during the upcoming Meta Connect event.

OKLAHOMA FORMS AI TASK FORCE 👊

Large-scale regulations in the United States are failing to take place, but state-wide efforts continue. 👍

What’s new? Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt has taken a significant step towards embracing the potential of AI by signing an executive order to establish an AI task force.

What is the point? This task force will delve into the various aspects of AI, including its potential uses, benefits, and security concerns. Stitt stated, "AI has the potential to revolutionize the way our society operates … The private sector is already finding ways to use it to increase efficiency. Potential exists for the government to use AI to root out inefficiencies and duplicate regulations, and it is an essential piece of developing a workforce that can compete on a global level."

Want more specifics? One of the primary goals of this task force is to identify practical applications of AI that can enhance the efficiency of government operations, educational institutions, and businesses. This endeavor aligns with the broader vision of utilizing AI to eliminate inefficiencies and streamline regulations. The task force will conduct a comprehensive study, assess various policy options, and provide administrative recommendations related to the deployment of AI and GenAI. Their findings are expected to be reported to Governor Stitt by the end of the year. Furthermore, the executive order calls upon directors of all state agencies to designate an AI and GenAI expert within their teams, demonstrating a commitment to leaning on experts in this cutting-edge field.
