What’s cookin’? Anthropic introduced Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1, new AI models designed for long, complicated work like coding, research, finance, and business operations. The main improvement is not just that Claude is “smarter.” It is better at staying on track across many steps. That matters when a task has 60 moving parts and a small mistake in step three can wreck step 60. Fable 5.1 can trace problems back to their source, check its own work, and keep going through long workflows without losing the plot. Anthropic says it is also cheaper for many agent-style tasks because the model can reuse information it has already processed.

🤔 Hunter’s take: This is the kind of AI upgrade that actually matters at work. Most people do not need a chatbot that sounds impressive for 30 seconds. They need one that can handle the messy stuff: old code, scattered documents, weird edge cases, and decisions that depend on earlier details. That’s the win here.

What’s cookin’? Doctors at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health are testing an AI tool that could help guide breathing tube placement for babies in the NICU. The tool uses computer vision, kind of like a backup camera in a car, to give doctors a clearer view during intubation. It places a visual marker over the baby’s airway and shows whether the doctor is too shallow, too deep, or on target. For now, it is only being tested and used in training, not for real procedures.
