OpenAI is reportedly in talks for a new stock sale that could value the company at $500 billion, a major leap from its $300 billion valuation earlier this year. The deal would let current and former employees sell their shares, and could be led by investor Thrive Capital. This would make OpenAI the world’s most valuable private tech firm, surpassing SpaceX. Shares of AMD immediately fell significantly after the company missed earnings estimates and reported a decline in AI business revenue compared to last year. CEO Lisa Su said U.S. export restrictions stopped sales of the company’s MI308 AI chips to China, hurting overall performance, and added that AMD is now transitioning to newer products. Although total revenue grew 32% year-over-year, investors are concerned about when China shipments will resume and whether the company’s data center business can grow fast enough to offset higher costs. Not to mention, its new Eagle G5 and Hawk systems launched just as the industry upgrades to HBM4 memory, positioning Camtek for continued momentum. Even though the company is doing well, its $3.8 billion value is still small compared to other semiconductor equipment makers, which means it still has room to grow.
