GROK QUIETLY GETS KEY IMAGE-EDITING UPDATE 🤫

Lights, camera, AI! 📸
What’s new? X has quietly introduced a new image-editing feature for its AI chatbot, Grok.
How does it work? This update lets users modify AI-generated images directly within the Grok interface by tapping an “Edit” button. After selecting it, users can input specific instructions to adjust or enhance the image.
Why is this significant? Generating images with AI can be a lot of fun. However, editing these images is often very challenging, at least when using LLMs like ChatGPT or Gemini. After creating an image, if you ask the LLM to modify some specific aspect of the image, it will likely change the image entirely, ruining your creation. This new feature from Grok resolves this problem, making it super simple to generate and edit high-quality images within the same conversation using natural language descriptions. Many people don’t seem to be talking about how cool this update is, likely because some are hesitant to promote Grok for image creation. This is because Grok, unlike other image generators, allows users to generate images depicting real people, which may prove deceptive and harmful. Others, however, love using Grok because—despite potential drawbacks—it allows for the fun, free creation of images with limited restrictions.

ADOBE LAUNCHES FIREFLY SUBSCRIPTION 🪰
Q: Why was the firefly arrested?
A: It was flashing in public. 😳
What’s new? Adobe has launched a standalone subscription service for its Firefly AI platform. Previously, to use Firefly, you had to get selected from a long waitlist.
How does it work? Firefly offers AI-powered tools for generating images, vectors, and even five-second videos. The new video tool lets creators generate custom clips from text or images, with options to tweak camera angles and aspect ratios. Anyone can now access these tools on its revamped website or through apps like Photoshop and Premiere Pro Beta. The new Firefly Standard plan costs $9.99/month and includes 2,000 credits—enough to create 20 five-second videos. For heavier users, the Pro plan at $29.99/month offers 70 AI videos per month. Adobe is also planning a “Premium” tier for up to 500 AI videos.
Why is this important? Image generation has been around for a while now, and video generation is the next big thing. Until now, however, it has been difficult for the average person to get their hands on quality video generation models. But as more video generation models like Firefly become available to the public, it will be interesting to see what people will create. Surely, we will see some spectacular uses as well as some harmful and deceiving deepfakes. To witness the latter, all you have to do is scroll to the next story!
AI CELEBRITIES GIVE KANYE THE BIRD 🖕
"Enough is enough."
🖕 Kanye West.
Make this go viral.

Did someone order celebrity drama, with a side of AI deception? 🙃
What’s going on? A deepfake video featuring AI-generated versions of celebrities speaking out against Kanye West has gone viral.
What is the video? In the video, the stars appear to wear t-shirts with the slogan “🖕 Kanye” in protest of Kanye West’s recent string of controversial actions and statements. AI depictions of celebrities including Mark Zuckerberg, Drake, David Schwimmer, Scarlett Johansson, Adam Sandler, and Steven Spielberg appear in the video, with some making explicit gestures directed at the rapper.
Why was the video created? The video was created in response to Kanye’s increasingly troubling behavior. Recently, Kanye—now legally known as Ye—posted anti-Semitic comments and launched a website selling t-shirts featuring Nazi symbols. His actions sparked widespread outrage, leading to the removal of his site and the deactivation of his X account.
