To achieve this, xAI has leveraged a massive data center in Memphis, housing approximately 200,000 GPUs, to train the model. This release places xAI in direct competition with industry leaders like OpenAI and DeepSeek for the best AI model on the market.

What else? Musk has stated that, upon the stability and maturity of Grok 3, Grok 2 will be open sourced—he expects this to happen within a few months as the company works out any minor issues that may arise with the new model. Additionally, voice features for Grok 3 will be coming soon.
