What’s up? Google quietly released a new iPhone app called Google AI Edge Eloquent, a free dictation tool that can turn speech into polished text even when you’re offline.

Want the details? The app is built for people who want to speak naturally and get cleaner writing back. After downloading its speech recognition model, users can dictate directly on their phone without needing an internet connection. The app shows a live transcript, then removes filler words like “um” and “ah” when you pause. It can also reshape the text with options like “Formal,” “Short,” “Long,” and “Key points.” If users want, they can turn on cloud features for extra cleanup, or keep everything local on the device. It also saves dictation history, tracks speech stats, and lets users add custom words or jargon.

What does this mean? Voice dictation is the new typing. Big players like Google are now recognizing that.

Side note: Our partner, WisprFlow (see featured AI tool above), is still better than this — but this shows that competition is heating up!

Your feed is chaos. Somewhere in that noise are the insights that could transform your work — but who has time to find them?

The Deep View solves this. They read everything, analyze what matters, and deliver key insights. No duplicate stories, no filler content, no wasted time. Just the essential AI developments that impact your industry, explained clearly and concisely.

Replace hours of scattered reading with five focused minutes. While others scramble to keep up, you'll stay ahead of developments that matter. 600,000+ professionals at top companies are already reading.

What’s new? Google Maps can now use AI to write captions for the photos and videos people upload about places.

How does it work? When someone wants to post a photo or video of a restaurant, store, or other location on Google Maps, Gemini looks at the image and generates a suggested caption based on what it sees. That caption might describe the food, the setting, or the overall feel of the place. The user is still in control, though. They can edit the caption, delete it, or post it as is.

Why should you care? Google Maps depends on user contributions to stay useful and up to date. If posting becomes faster and easier, more people may share helpful photos and details. That could give others a better sense of what a place is actually like before they go.
