Are you ready to get tech-y?

The annual CES event, known as the most powerful event in the world, took place over the course of the past week in Las Vegas. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the week-long event brought developers together from around the globe who were eager to showcase their latest gadgets and gizmos. Today, we are going to explore some of the coolest AI-powered tech that was featured at the expo. Are you ready for your mind to be blown? Well, even if you’re not, we are going to blow it anyways.

A FRIDGE THAT ORDERS YOUR GROCERIES

Image: Samsung

Tired of filling out a boring shopping list, then planning a trip to the store just so you can get lost in the aisles looking for your groceries? Those days are over! At CES, Samsung debuted an AI-powered fridge that can track your food and order groceries automatically. Samsung’s AI-enabled Bespoke fridge uses built-in cameras and advanced deep-learning models to recognize and track food items inside. The “AI Vision Inside” technology can identify over 36 common items, while users can manually input names and expiration dates for less recognizable foods. The fridge’s display screen shows the current inventory and can even suggest recipes based on what’s available. With the new Instacart integration, users will be able to order groceries directly from the fridge screen by selecting missing items. Of course, the system requires wifi and linked Samsung and Instacart accounts to function.

GRILL YOUR FOOD WITH AI

So now that you have your groceries, it is time to get out your grill. Except this time, you won’t be burning those burgers to a crisp. Barbecue startup Brisk has showcased the first-ever grill equipped with generative AI, and it’s only $400. The grill connects to wifi and is paired with an app. From there, users can customize how they want their meat cooked. The grill can “monitor, control, and automate the cook for you.” When your food is sizzled to perfection, you will be notified right on your phone. If some special foods need to be wrapped, rubbed, or spritzed, the AI will remind you at the right time. If you are caught up in the big game and miss a notification, you don’t have to worry because the AI will automatically adjust the grilling temperature to prevent your food from being ruined.

A ROBOVAC THAT CAN PICK UP YOUR DIRTY SOCKS

You know those robovacs that crawl around some people’s houses? They are great for picking up dirt, but wouldn’t it be nice if they could pick up your kid’s toys or put dirty socks in the laundry? Chinese tech company Roborock has introduced the Saros Z70, an advanced robot vacuum which features an AI-powered folding arm, designed specifically to do just that. The arm attachment is designed to identify and remove small household obstacles like socks, tissues, and sandals. The vacuum is able to handle items weighing up to 10.58 ounces, making it more efficient in keeping floors clear. Roborock President Quan Gang believes that with the rise of AI, these types of robot vacuums could become as common as washing machines within the next three years. The Saros Z70 is expected to launch globally this spring, though pricing remains undisclosed.

A PHONE TOASTER (CHARGER)

One of the worst feelings is waking up in the morning only to find out that your phone hasn’t been charging all night. Well, as you pop your breakfast in the toaster, you can pop your phone in a toaster too. This is the vision behind the Instant Power System. Dubbed as the “phone toaster,” it has become one of the most viral products displayed at CES 2025. A company called Swippitt has invented a type of portable battery that attaches to the back of one’s phone. Once the battery dies, users can put their phone into this contraption that looks like a toaster, and in less than two seconds, the dead battery gets swapped out for a fully-charged 3,500 mAh battery. While you enjoy scrolling on Instagram with your fully charged phone, your dead battery will be getting re-charged.

EVER WISH YOU WERE A FLOWER? …

Well, maybe you don’t wish you were a flower, but regardless, many people have a desire to get more in touch with nature. At CES 2025, a company called Wonder showed off their new Petal Smart Garden Camera. Solar-powered and designed to look like a flower, this advanced camera is equipped with AI-powered computer vision. This allows the camera to identify the little critters that it sees in the garden each day and generate a report. From a smartphone, users can view a livestream of this activity up close and also snap pictures. This device is reportedly going to hit the market for less than $100 sometime this spring.

READ YOUR EMAIL ON YOUR GLASSES

When you’re walking on the streets, you may soon begin to notice people with a small, green light on their glasses. It is possible they are reading text messages, crafting an email, or consulting an AI assistant for navigation advice. Halliday’s AI smart glasses extend beyond the abilities of the famous Meta Ray-Bans by providing a small display screen that can be navigated by the viewer. This allows the user to more easily do things like read smartphone notifications and receive live voice translation. As one TechCrunch reviewer stated, “I tried on a pair of Halliday smart glasses in a quiet corner of the Caesar’s Palace Casino in Las Vegas, while the company’s founder, Carter Hou, spoke to me in Chinese. As Hou spoke, English subtitles appeared over his right shoulder with only a second of delay. We went back and forth for a few minutes, him speaking in Chinese and me speaking in English, as the smart glasses facilitated our bilingual conversation.” The lens can be easily paired with prescription glasses, and Halliday is planning to launch these glasses in March for just under $500.

THE AI PET YOU ALWAYS WANTED

Why should people unable to care for a pet be left without the companionship of one? Some older people or people with disabilities don’t get pets out of fear that they won’t be able to take care of them. However, studies show that a pet can have positive effects on those who are lonely or struggle to get out of the house. A company called Tombot has come up with a solution to this dilemma: the robotic dog named Jennie. To be priced at less than $500, the pup’s fur feels just like that of a dog, it has interactive sensors, responds to voice commands, and makes realistic sounds. The only catch? It doesn’t have to be fed regularly, can be left at home for long periods of time, and it doesn’t pee on the floor.

A THERAPY CHAIR FROM TRANSFORMERS (NOT REALLY)

Image: Bodyfriend

Tired of sitting on the couch? It’s time to upgrade your seat. Massage chairs have been around for years, but the Bodyfriend 733 Massage Chair is unlike any other. Yes, this chair can give a great full-body massage, but it does more than that: this chair can actually perform physical therapy on your body. It has the ability to personalize movements and stretches for the whole body while combining heating and cooling technology to muscles where they need it. This can be great for healing from an injury or increasing flexibility and mobility. Not to mention, the chair looks like something straight out of a Transformers movie. The only drawback? It comes with a whopping price tag of $20,000.

WHAT’S NEXT?

As you can see, technology continues to evolve at rapid rates, and there are cool gadgets and gizmos emerging around every corner. These are being developed by both big companies and small, independent developers. Some of these innovations are meant to make life easier, and others are just flat out fun.

We hope you enjoyed exploring these cool innovations together and dipping your toes into the future. Every year, the CES event is a reminder that developers across the world are finding super cool ways to use emerging technology like AI to make cool contraptions and useful devices. So this year, whether you find yourself petting your robot dog or grilling up your steaks with the power of AI, let these gadgets be an indication of the bright future ahead.
