💬 PROMPT OF THE DAY:
Design a thirty-minute monthly money meeting for myself or my household. Include balances, upcoming expenses, goal progress, unusual spending, decisions needed, and one positive observation so the meeting is not only about problems.
What’s cookin’? Claude can now send, reply to, and forward emails through its Google Workspace connector, which already helped users manage Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. The big change is that Claude can now actually press send. By default, Anthropic says Claude will ask for approval before sending an email, but users can choose to let it send messages without checking first. For Team and Enterprise accounts, company owners can decide whether employees are allowed to turn that setting on. For now, the feature is only available on paid Claude plans.
🤔 Hunter’s take: This is one of those “small” updates that actually feels huge. Email is not just another app. It is where deals happen, relationships get managed, jobs get accepted, apologies get made, and mistakes become permanent. Letting AI send for us saves time, but it also moves AI from assistant to actor. The real question is not whether Claude can write the email. It is whether we trust it with the social consequences of pressing send.
What’s cookin’? OpenAI has launched AI Futures, a new blog from its Strategic Futures team focused on one huge question: how can free societies protect human rights and individual agency as AI becomes more powerful? The team is especially worried about “concentration of power” risks. In simple terms, if governments or major companies can use AI to automate labor, policing, bureaucracy, revenue collection, and even physical force, they may no longer need as much cooperation from ordinary people. That could weaken the bargaining power humans have always had in society.
🤔 Hunter’s take: This is one of the more interesting AI safety conversations because it is not just about killer robots or bad chatbots. It is about leverage and power. The scary question is not just “Will AI replace jobs?” It is “Will regular people still have a say?”
