CHATGPT CAN NOW DO “TASKS” FOR YOU 🦾
ChatGPT is the superhero we never knew we needed! 🦸♂️
What’s new? OpenAI has introduced a new feature called “tasks” for ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Pro users.
What does it do? Rolling out in beta this week, tasks allow users to schedule prompts for future use—whether it’s a daily news update, weather report, or one-time reminder to purchase concert tickets. Think of it as your personal AI assistant that works on a schedule. As OpenAI stated, “Whether it’s one-time reminders or recurring actions, tell ChatGPT what you need and when, and it will automatically take care of it.” For instance, you can say, “Remind me to work out every morning at 9:30am and pump me up with a motivational speech!”
Why is this significant? This feature puts an AI assistant in the pockets of every person. This innovation also hints at OpenAI’s broader ambitions toward artificial general intelligence (AGI)—AI capable of performing complex tasks independently, edging closer to human-level intelligence.
AI BRAD PITT SCAM STEALS $855,000 FROM INNOCENT WOMAN 😡
There are a lot of scams on the internet … and for a low price of $99, I can show you how to avoid them. 😆
What happened? In a scam straight out of a Hollywood heist plot, a French woman known as “Anne” lost $855,000 to con artists using AI to pose as actor Brad Pitt.
Want the story? The elaborate deception began in early 2023 after Anne received a message on Instagram, supposedly from Pitt’s mother. Anne was told Pitt needed emotional support—and later financial help for cancer treatment. The scammers used AI-generated photos and messages to make their story more convincing. Despite initial doubts, Anne—unfamiliar with social media—was drawn in. She eventually transferred money to an account in Turkey after receiving an email from a “doctor.” Her story went viral after airing on French TV, only to be met with cruel online mockery. The backlash was so severe that the network pulled her interview. Police are continuing to investigate the scam and make things right. Nonetheless, Anne’s viral ordeal highlights the rising threat of AI scams, which have affected millions worldwide.
“At first I said to myself that it was fake, that it’s ridiculous. But I’m not used to social media and I didn’t really understand what was happening to me.”
BIDEN SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR DATA CENTERS 🇺🇸
“Robot Joe” has a nice ring to it. 🤣
What happened? In his final week in office, Joe Biden signed a sweeping executive order aimed at strengthening the U.S. AI infrastructure.
What is the order? The order focuses on accelerating the construction of large-scale AI data centers and clean power facilities by using federal sites. Agencies like the Department of Defense and Department of Energy will identify locations for private companies to build and operate AI hubs, with requirements for clean energy use.
“We will not let America be out-built when it comes to the technology that will define the future, nor should we sacrifice critical environmental standards and our shared efforts to protect clean air and clean water.”
Why is this significant? As AI tools grow in complexity, they require massive amounts of electricity. A recent Department of Energy report revealed U.S. data center power consumption could rise to 12% of the nation’s electricity by 2028. Biden’s plan seeks to ease grid connections for data centers while safeguarding environmental standards. The initiative also highlights national security concerns, aiming to prevent reliance on foreign AI systems. However, critics argue the plan lacks strong water usage regulations, raising concerns in water-scarce regions.
