What’s cookin’? OpenAI just introduced Dots, always-on AI agents designed to work for you around the clock. Each Dot gets its own cloud computer and can connect to thousands of apps through plugins. Instead of waiting for prompts, a Dot can keep projects moving in the background, monitor information, prepare documents, investigate problems, update plans, and bring completed work back for review. It also learns your preferences over time, so the goal is for it to increasingly work the way you would. OpenAI is beginning the rollout for Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise users.

🤔 Hunter’s take: This feels like a much bigger shift than “ChatGPT got smarter.” We’re moving from AI you visit to AI that sticks around and works while you sleep. This changes the entire workplace dynamic because it means you don’t need to be sitting in front of your computer for AI to help you at work.

What’s cookin’? During a White House gathering with leaders from major tech companies including Google, Meta, Nvidia, Anthropic and OpenAI, President Trump signed an executive order directing the federal government to stop calling the technology “artificial intelligence” or “AI” and start calling it “super intelligence,” or SI. Federal agencies are now supposed to use SI instead of AI in official websites, reports, and communications. Importantly, the technology itself hasn’t changed — for now, the order simply gives SI the same legal definition the government was already using for AI.

🤔 Hunter’s take: I don’t understand this move. You can’t just change the meaning of a technical term that’s meant something specific for decades. “Superintelligence” has traditionally meant a hypothetical system dramatically smarter than humans across nearly every area — not ChatGPT today. Calling all AI “SI” just makes an already confusing field more confusing. And no, I’m not changing FryAI to FrySI anytime soon. 🤪
