THE #1 COUNTRY SONG IN AMERICA IS AI-GENERATED 🎶
What’s up? For the first time ever, an AI-created artist has topped the U.S. country music charts.
Want the details? The song “Walk My Walk” by Breaking Rust, a mysterious AI-generated country artist, just reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart. With over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Breaking Rust has quickly become a viral sensation. While the vocals and look mimic a real person—complete with cowboy hats and emotional imagery—the music is completely “artificial.”
What does this mean? Critics say AI-generated music does not display true, human creativity. However, in a recent survey spanning 8 countries and 9,000 participants, 97% of people couldn’t tell the difference between fully AI-generated music and human-made music in a blind test with two AI songs and one real song. More than half (52%) said they were uncomfortable that they couldn’t tell the difference. If fans can connect with these songs, why does it matter if they are made with AI? And what does that mean for human artists trying to break through?
RUSSIA’S FIRST HUMANOID EMBARRASSINGLY FALLS ON STAGE 😅
What happened? Russia’s first AI-powered humanoid robot, named AIdol, fell during its public debut at a tech event in Moscow.
Want more? AIdol was introduced as a cutting-edge example of Russian-made robotics, designed to walk, interact, and display facial expressions through advanced AI. As it was being led onstage to dramatic music, the robot lost its balance and collapsed, leaving parts scattered across the stage. Staff quickly rushed to cover it with a screen and remove it from public view. Developers later said the fall was due to calibration issues, and that AIdol is still in testing.

META’S CHIEF AI SCIENTIST LEAVES TO LAUNCH STARTUP 🚀
What’s up? Meta’s chief AI scientist, Yann LeCun, is reportedly planning to leave the company to launch his own startup.
Why? LeCun, a Turing Award-winning AI pioneer and professor at NYU, is said to be raising funds for a new company focused on “world models”: AI systems that try to understand the world well enough to predict outcomes based on cause and effect. These systems are seen as a next step in building smarter, more adaptable AI.
