✨ MYSTERY AI LINK
This link leads to one of the most interesting things I’ve seen in AI recently.
THE BIG STORY
What’s cookin’? When someone says “I’m fine” on a call, a transcript captures the words but misses the sigh that came first. Hume AI built its Audio Decision API to pick up on details like that. Developers send it a recording and a question, such as whether two people talked over each other, and it estimates how likely each answer is. In Hume’s own evaluation, the company compared those judgments with how a panel of listeners rated the same audio, and the results were quite accurate. There’s a waitlist for developers and a demo anyone can try.
🤔 Hunter’s take: The big change is that a company could search its calls for things a transcript leaves out, like customers repeatedly getting interrupted. That could help a support team spot a problem in its call script without listening to hundreds of recordings. If the same tool flags someone as frustrated, though, a person should listen before that label affects how the caller or employee is treated.

ALSO ON THE MENU
What’s cookin’? Teachers can now add an AI tutor to an assignment in Google Classroom. The feature, called Guided Learning, uses the teacher’s lesson materials to ask questions and offer hints as students work through a problem. If a student gets stuck halfway through a math problem, for example, the tutor can help them figure out the next step. The teacher can then read the conversation to see what the student struggled with. Google has launched the feature in Classroom worldwide and plans to test a separate version in Search at select U.S. schools.
🤔 Hunter’s take: The part I’m most interested in is what happens in class the next day. If several students needed the same hint, the teacher can go back over that step with everyone. A grade might show that half the class missed a problem. Seeing where they got stuck gives the teacher something specific to work on.

PROMPT OF THE DAY:
Create a practical verification checklist for this draft or claim: [paste it]. Break it into factual claims, calculations, interpretations, and opinions. For each factual claim, tell me what kind of reliable source would confirm it and what warning signs would suggest it is wrong.
HAS AI REACHED SINGULARITY? +0%
Holding at 76.5%, with no change today. Listening for a sigh or coaching a student through a problem can make AI more useful in specific settings. I’d move the meter if we saw that kind of judgment hold up across very different tasks and settings.
The meter reflects my editorial judgment.
