SALESFORCE INTRODUCES INDUSTRY-CHANGING RESOURCES 🤝

Boss: Did you get any orders today?

Salesman: Yes, I got two!

Boss: Great! What were they?

Salesman: “Get out!” and “Stay out!” ✋

What’s up? Salesforce unveiled two AI-driven tools for sales management: the Einstein SDR Agent and the Einstein Sales Coach Agent.

Einstein SDR Agent:

The Einstein SDR Agent autonomously engages with inbound prospects 24/7, nurturing the sales pipeline without human intervention. It schedules meetings, answers initial questions, and even adapts to local language preferences, making it an essential tool for companies with limited resources.

Einstein Sales Coach Agent:

The Einstein Sales Coach Agent offers a personalized coaching experience. It helps salespeople refine their pitches through role-playing exercises and provides feedback on their performance. This AI-driven coach can also suggest strategies during live sales interactions, making it a valuable asset for onboarding and training new sales professionals.

Will this take sales jobs? Salesforce emphasizes that this approach to AI in sales is focused on collaboration with human salespeople. These tools will act as “new team members” rather than replacements, streamlining processes and driving outcomes.

SILICON VALLEY FIGHTS STATE REGULATION 🦾

The only regulated “bills” Silicon Valley bros want to see are green with numbers and presidents on them. 💰

What’s up? California’s state government is in a battle against tech giants in Silicon Valley over a proposed AI regulation bill.

What’s the bill? California’s proposed AI regulation bill, SB 1047, was introduced by CA Senator Scott Wiener and seeks to establish a framework for the safe development and deployment of AI within the state. The bill includes the following proposals:

  • The bill would mandate safety testing for AI models that cost more than $100 million to develop or those that require a defined amount of computing power.

  • The bill would require developers to include a “kill switch” for disabling AI systems if necessary.

  • The bill would give the state attorney general the power to sue if developers are not compliant with safety protocols.

  • The bill would require developers to hire third-party auditors to assess their safety practices and provide additional protections to whistleblowers speaking out against AI abuses.

What is the pushback? Amid the government push for this bill, tech giants like Alphabet, Anthropic, and Meta have voiced concerns that the bill could stifle innovation, particularly limiting the development and use of open-source models. In response to this pushback, a revised version of the bill has softened many requirements, including removing a controversial provision for a mandatory government AI oversight committee.

“Our initial concerns about the bill potentially hindering innovation due to the rapidly evolving nature of the field have been greatly reduced in the amended version."

-Dario Amodei, Anthropic CEO

AI UNVEILS THE FACE OF JESUS? ✝️

Image: Daily Express/Midjourney

Did AI just show us the face of Jesus? 🤯

What happened? AI has been used to analyze the Shroud of Turin, believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, and create lifelike renderings of the face of Jesus. This was motivated by recent research into the Shroud.

What research motivated this? Scientific conclusions from the 1980s dated the cloth to the 1300s, causing many to believe this was not the burial cloth of Jesus. However, recent research using updated X-ray analysis methods found that the Shroud’s fabric matched samples from Masada, Israel, dating back to between 55 to 74 CE. This suggests that the Shroud of Turin may indeed align with the time of Christ.

What do the images look like? The AI-generated images depict a man with long hair, a beard, and visible wounds, closely resembling traditional depictions of Christ. The most famous AI image was created by Daily Express using Midjourney (above), but many others have emerged as well.
