YOUTUBE TESTS TWO NEW AI FEATURES 🎥
I’m going to start reviewing bottled water on YouTube ... It’s an untapped market! 💧
What’s new? YouTube is launching two major AI-powered features: an intelligent search results carousel and an expanded conversational AI tool for exploring and learning from videos.
What are the new features?
The new AI carousel helps users quickly find relevant content by generating video highlights and topic descriptions for search terms like “best beaches in Hawaii.” It pulls clips and summaries from creators across the platform, offering a fast, curated way to explore topics. | YouTube’s conversational AI—previously exclusive to Premium members—is now rolling out to more U.S. users. This tool acts like a virtual tutor, answering questions, giving recommendations, and helping users better understand video content. |
CANVA ANNOUNCES CHATGPT INTEGRATION 🎨
I can make digital art pretty easily. But when it comes to paper, that’s where I draw the line. ✏️
What’s new? Canva has launched a new integration with ChatGPT, enabling users to access its design tools and brand assets directly through AI conversations. Canva is the first design platform to be natively integrated into ChatGPT.
How does it work? This integration lets people use Canva’s features—like creating presentations, documents, and graphics—without leaving ChatGPT. You can pull in past projects, generate new visuals, and collaborate on designs directly inside the chat. Canva also introduced something called the MCP Server, which helps AI assistants understand your design style, brand colors, and past work so they can create personalized content automatically.
“We’re embedding Canva directly into the AI tools people use every day so they can brainstorm, create, and publish content faster. This is a major step in our vision to make the complex simple and build an all-in-one AI workflow that’s secure and accessible to all.”
Why does this matter? This marks a shift toward seamless AI-powered workflows—where design, data, and creativity merge in one place. Instead of juggling tools, users can now brainstorm, build, and publish in a single flow, making content creation faster, smarter, and more accessible across industries.
META POACHES KEY RESEARCHER FROM OPENAI 🧠
With all these researchers jumping ship, the AI world is starting to feel like the NBA offseason. 🏀
What happened? Meta has hired Trapit Bansal, a prominent AI researcher from OpenAI, to help lead its new AI superintelligence efforts.
Want some context? Bansal played a major role in OpenAI’s development of advanced reasoning models and reinforcement learning, including work on the o1 model alongside OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever. Now, he joins Meta’s growing AI dream team, which includes ex-Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang and other top recruits from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and more. Meta’s new unit is focused on developing competitive reasoning models—systems that can think through complex problems before responding—something the company hasn’t yet released publicly.
Why is this significant? Reasoning models are at the cutting edge of AI. They power smarter AI agents and tools that could reshape everything from customer service to business decision-making. With OpenAI, Google, and DeepSeek already ahead, Bansal’s hire signals that Meta is serious about catching up—and maybe even taking the lead.
