What’s new? Google announced new Gemini-powered features for Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive that can automatically create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using information from your files, emails, and the web.

How does it work? The new tools turn Gemini into a built-in assistant across Google Workspace. In Docs, you can describe what you want and Gemini will generate a first draft using relevant files or emails, then help edit the tone or match a specific writing style. In Sheets, you can ask Gemini to build entire spreadsheets, organize data, or automatically fill in missing information from online sources. In Slides, Gemini can design slides or even create full presentations from a simple prompt. In Google Drive, a new “Ask Gemini” feature can summarize information from your documents and answer questions based on your files.

Why should you care? These updates aim to remove the hardest part of many projects: getting started. Instead of staring at a blank page or spreadsheet, users can ask AI to create a starting point instantly. This could save time, simplify complex tasks, and make productivity tools much more powerful for everyday users.

What’s up? Microsoft is launching a new $99-per-month Microsoft 365 E7 subscription in May that bundles its Copilot AI assistant with tools for managing AI agents and employee identities. This comes with the introduction of Copilot Cowork, a new agentic system built in partnership with Anthropic.

Want the details? The new Microsoft 365 E7 package is designed for large companies and includes several tools in one subscription. It bundles Microsoft’s Copilot AI assistant, which can help write emails, analyze spreadsheets, and summarize meetings, along with security and identity tools that help companies manage employee access to systems. It also introduces Agent 365, a new feature that lets organizations manage AI “agents” that can complete multi-step tasks automatically, such as preparing meeting materials or sending scheduled updates. Additionally, the new Copilot Cowork feature — developed with Anthropic — can coordinate more complex workflows using company documents, calls, and internal data.
