ELEVENLABS DROPS ELEVEN MUSIC 🎧
What’s new? AI startup ElevenLabs has unveiled Eleven Music, a new tool that creates custom songs—complete with vocals and lyrics—using just a text prompt.
How does it work? Users can type in something like “an early 2000’s rap song with motivating lyrics,” and within minutes, the system generates a fully composed track that’s cleared for commercial use. The company has quietly tested the tech with about 20 clients who’ve used it for movies, video games, and more. To avoid legal trouble, ElevenLabs says the model was trained only on licensed music via deals with Merlin Network and Kobalt Music Group—two agencies representing smaller labels.
Why does this matter? This launch offers a legal, fast, and flexible way to produce music for content creators and businesses without the usual costs or licensing headaches. But it also raises fresh concerns about the future of human musicians and the growing spread of AI-generated “fake” content online.
OPENAI OPENS OPEN-WEIGHT MODELS TO THE PUBLIC 🦾
What happened? OpenAI has released its most capable open-weight AI models to the public, making powerful tools available for governments, nonprofits, and developers worldwide.
How does this work? Available for download on GitHub and Hugging Face, these new models can solve complex problems, adapt to diverse tasks, and run on a user’s own infrastructure—without needing to rely on centralized services. That means countries, small nonprofits, and individual developers can all customize and deploy advanced AI on their terms. The release supports OpenAI’s global initiatives, including partnerships with democratic governments and nonprofits, allowing these groups to build secure, local AI systems that reflect shared values.
Why is this significant? This is a big step toward democratizing AI. By putting powerful models into more hands, OpenAI hopes to spread opportunity, boost innovation, and shape global AI standards in line with American values like transparency and freedom. In an era where AI is both a tool and a source of influence, open access isn’t just a tech decision—it’s a strategic one.
TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR SMUGGLING AI CHIPS TO CHINA 👀
What happened? The U.S. Department of Justice has arrested two men in California for allegedly smuggling powerful AI chips, likely Nvidia’s H100s, to China in violation of federal export laws.
Want more details? Chuan Geng and Shiwei Yang, operating through their company ALX Solutions, are accused of knowingly bypassing U.S. export controls by routing shipments through countries like Singapore and Malaysia, while receiving payments from Chinese entities. The DOJ claims they shipped tens of millions of dollars' worth of high-performance GPUs, potentially undermining U.S. efforts to restrict advanced AI technologies from reaching rival nations. The U.S. government has proposed solutions like tracking technology or kill switches to fix this problem, but Nvidia is pushing back, claiming that these solutions raise serious privacy and cybersecurity concerns.
What does this mean? This case underscores the value of AI chips and growing tensions between national security and global tech trade. As the U.S. clamps down on AI chip exports to China, it faces pressure to enforce rules without compromising trust in American tech firms.

Big investors are buying this “unlisted” stock
When the founder who sold his last company to Zillow for $120M starts a new venture, people notice. That’s why the same VCs who backed Uber, Venmo, and eBay also invested in Pacaso.
Disrupting the real estate industry once again, Pacaso’s streamlined platform offers co-ownership of premier properties, revamping the $1.3T vacation home market.
And it works. By handing keys to 2,000+ happy homeowners, Pacaso has already made $110M+ in gross profits in their operating history.
Now, after 41% YoY gross profit growth last year alone, they recently reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
Paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.
