GOOGLE INTRODUCES PROJECT GENIE 🧞♂️
What’s new? Google has introduced Project Genie, an experimental tool that lets you create and explore interactive virtual worlds.
How does it work? Project Genie is powered by Google’s Genie 3, a world model that simulates dynamic environments in real time. Users can sketch a world using text and images, then walk, drive, or fly through it as the AI generates the environment on the fly. You can remix others’ creations, adjust the visuals, and even download videos of your explorations. It's a blend of creative design, AI simulation, and immersive storytelling. It is currently available for AI Ultra subscribers.
Why is this significant? This shows how far AI has come in building truly interactive digital experiences — a big step toward more powerful, general-purpose AI. Whether you're a creative, researcher, or just curious, Project Genie is an early look at how AI might shape future entertainment, education, and virtual exploration.
MOZILLA IS FORMING AN “AI REBEL ALLIANCE” ✊
What’s up? Mozilla, the nonprofit behind the Firefox browser, is investing its $1.4 billion from its reserves to build an “AI rebel alliance” to take on industry heavyweights like OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Anthropic.
Why? Today’s AI race is mostly controlled by a few massive companies, and their decisions shape everything from safety standards to who gets access. Mozilla’s push aims to give smaller players a voice. Mozilla is investing in startups that are building open-source tools, creating safety standards, and offering alternatives to powerful systems from major players. Mozilla also started its own AI company, Mozilla.ai.
Want to get real? As much as people may want this effort to succeed, it will likely fizzle. Meta just announced plans to spend $135 billion on AI development in 2026. Mozilla’s $1.4 billion investment pales in comparison, especially when they already lag behind industry giants significantly in capability and computing power.
