UBER DEBUTS NEW PERSONAL SHOPPER 🛒

Image: Uber

What’s new? Uber just rolled out a new AI-powered feature called Cart Assistant that helps you build your grocery list with just a photo or simple text.

How does this work? Now available through Uber Eats at stores like Kroger, Albertsons, and Safeway, Cart Assistant lets users upload a picture of a handwritten list, a screenshot of a recipe, or even type a meal idea (like “chicken tacos”). The AI then creates a full shopping cart with matching ingredients, factoring in prices, availability, and your favorite brands. It also learns over time—offering personalized suggestions based on your regular buys.

Why should you care? This tool is a big step toward making online grocery shopping faster, easier, and more intuitive. Instead of hunting for groceries through the aisles, users can let the AI do the work—saving time and reducing hassle.

OPENAI IS RETIRING LEGACY MODELS 😌

What’s up? OpenAI has officially retired its legacy models, likely for good.

Want the details? You will no longer be able to use GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and o4-mini within ChatGPT, though the models will stick around in the API for now. OpenAI claims that less than 1% of users were using these models, and that the best parts of these models have been incorporated into GPT-5.1 and GPT-5.2.

“We know that losing access to GPT‑4o will feel frustrating for some users, and we didn’t make this decision lightly. Retiring models is never easy, but it allows us to focus on improving the models most people use today.”

-OpenAI

Why is this significant? Many users really enjoyed GPT-4o because of its warm personality. When OpenAI tried to retire it the first time, there was so much backlash they had to bring it back. Now that OpenAI has incorporated customizable personalities within the new models, they think it is time to put 4o to rest for good.
