ROBOTS ARE CONDUCTING JOB INTERVIEWS π€
Next time you are invited for a job interview, you just might be sitting across from a robot β¦
How does AI evaluate a candidate? AI assesses verbal content carefully, paying close attention to the pronunciation of words, voice inflection, pauses in speaking, etc. However, the AI interviewer does not just monitor what one says, but it also accounts for non-verbal cues. For example, it monitors body language, facial expressions, hand gestures, and more! πββοΈ
Although this idea might seem unfair to some, tech developers think the implementation of AI interviewing will actually grant more opportunities to people seeking jobs. Intended to be used at the early stages of interviewing, the developers believe it will allow people to show more about themselves to potential employers than what is simply on a resume, and it can give them an opportunity to be fairly considered based on more than what they can put on paper.
It remains to be seen if major companies will adopt this technology, but before you go to your next job interview, make sure you brush up on your robot language!

AI-POWERED CARS CAN SEE THROUGH WALLS π
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have x-ray vision? Well, you just might get that chance!
Researchers from MIT and Rice University have partnered to develop an AI-powered computer vision system that could transform the way we drive!
The researchers explained that this new computer system could allow people to see around corners and other areas blocked by walls, trees, and other obstacles. The technology is able to do this by leveraging reflections off shiny objects to produce a sort of x-ray vision around these obstacles.
The researchers say this technology could be built into warning systems for drivers and could also be applied to autonomous cars, making driving safer for everyone and βchange how people see the world.β π
ROBOT FARMERS π¨βπΎ
Ecorobotix, an agricultural robotics startup based in Switzerland, has raised $52 million with the intention of bringing AI-powered farming bots to the United States.
Farmers in the US have been facing an increasing labor shortage in the past decade amid rising operating costs and a dwindling supply of domestic workers. The AI-powered machines might be just what they need! These machines are able to manage 237 acres in 24 hours, and their efficiency is such that there is less need for chemical usage which will both help the environment and cut costs for farmers.
This technology has recently boomed in Europe, and about 70% of specialty crop growers there are now taking advantage. As Ecrobotix makes its transition to the US, the AI technology could bring a plethora of affordable, organic goods back to markets in neighborhoods across the country. π½
