OPENAI JOINS FORCES WITH AWS 🤝
What happened? OpenAI and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a $38 billion, multi-year partnership to power OpenAI’s AI models using AWS’s top-tier cloud infrastructure.
What does this mean? OpenAI will now run its advanced AI systems—like those behind ChatGPT—on AWS’s high-performance servers, which include hundreds of thousands of powerful chips and the ability to scale to millions more. These servers are specifically designed to handle the heavy computing demands of training and running large AI models. The partnership means OpenAI can instantly access this infrastructure, giving it the flexibility and power to build even more advanced AI tools. By teaming up, OpenAI and AWS are ensuring that millions of people and businesses can continue to benefit from faster, smarter, and more reliable AI tools. It also means new AI breakthroughs may be coming sooner rather than later from OpenAI.

MICROSOFT CEO: “AI WILL NEVER BE CONSCIOUS” 🧠
What’s up? Microsoft’s AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman says only biological beings—like humans—can be conscious, and that building AI to seem conscious is the wrong path.
“They’re not conscious. So it would be absurd to pursue research that investigates that question, because they’re not and they can’t be.”
Want the details? In a recent interview, Suleyman made clear that while AI is becoming smarter and more useful, it’s not—and never will be—conscious. Unlike humans, AI doesn’t feel pain, sadness, or desire. It may sound emotional, but it’s just mimicking patterns. He warned that treating AI like it has thoughts or feelings can lead us down dangerous paths, especially as “AI companions” grow more popular. Microsoft, he said, is intentionally staying away from making AIs that pretend to be real people or offer things like romantic chats.
Why should you care? As AI becomes more lifelike, it’s easy to forget it isn’t alive. Suleyman wants to remind us: AI is a tool, not a person. Building AI to serve people—not be people—keeps us grounded in reality, safety, and responsibility.
GOOGLE’S AI FALSELY ACCUSES SENATOR 😬
What happened? Google pulled its Gemma AI model from public use after it falsely claimed a U.S. senator had been accused of sexual assault.
Want the story? The AI model, Gemma, was meant for developers to build tools—not for regular users to ask factual questions. However, people began using it to look up real-world information. When one user asked if Senator Marsha Blackburn had been accused of sexual misconduct, the AI invented a detailed (but entirely false) story, even citing fake news sources. In response, Blackburn accused Google of defamation and political bias. Google clarified that Gemma was never meant to answer factual queries and has now removed access to it through AI Studio, though developers can still use it through the API.
“Shut it down until you can control it.”
Why does this matter? This incident shows how powerful AI tools can cause serious harm if used incorrectly. As AI becomes more common, companies must take stronger steps to prevent misinformation and protect people’s reputations.
