OPENAI INTRODUCES “STUDY MODE” 🙇♀️
What’s new? OpenAI has introduced Study Mode, built directly into the ChatGPT interface. According to OpenAI, this is “a learning experience that helps you work through problems step by step instead of just getting an answer.”
Key features:
Interactive prompts: Uses questions, hints, and reflection to guide learning instead of giving direct answers.
Scaffolded responses: Breaks down complex topics into clear, connected sections with just enough context.
Personalized support: Adapts lessons to your level based on skill checks and past chats.
Knowledge checks: Includes quizzes and open-ended questions with feedback to reinforce learning.
Flexibility: Switch study mode on or off anytime to fit your learning needs.
“The best way I’d describe it is a live, 24/7, all-knowing ‘office hours.’”
YOUTUBE USES AI TO DETECT TEENAGE VIEWERS 👀
What’s new? YouTube is rolling out AI-powered age estimation to better protect teens and children online.
How does it work? Instead of relying solely on a user’s listed birthdate, YouTube is using machine learning to estimate a viewer’s age by analyzing patterns like the types of videos they search for, watch, and how long their account has existed. If the system detects a user is under 18, it automatically enables protections—such as turning off personalized ads, limiting certain recommendations, activating content safeguards, and activating digital wellbeing tools. If the AI incorrectly flags someone as underage, users can verify their age with a credit card or government ID.
Why does this matter? This update helps YouTube offer safer, age-appropriate content without compromising user privacy. As kids and teens spend more time online, tools like this give parents and caregivers added peace of mind while still allowing young users to explore, learn, and be entertained responsibly.

YELP’S NEW AI VIDEOS WILL HELP YOU CHOOSE WHERE TO EAT 🍔
What’s new? Yelp is now using AI to automatically create short, TikTok-style videos about restaurants, bars, and nightlife spots across its iOS app.
How does it work? Yelp combines user-uploaded photos, videos, and reviews into short vertical clips using a mix of generative AI tools. OpenAI models write the scripts and captions, ElevenLabs provides the narrator’s voice, and Amazon Transcribe handles the on-screen text. These videos showcase food, drinks, and atmosphere, and are shown in the app’s new vertically scrolling feed—similar to TikTok. Businesses can’t see or edit these videos, and users can’t opt out of having their content included, though inaccurate or offensive videos can be reported.
Why should you care? This new feature helps users quickly get a feel for a place without digging through dozens of reviews. It also marks another big step in how AI is transforming everyday apps—blending creativity, automation, and personalization into a more engaging user experience.
