YOUTUBE USES AI TO ENHANCE OLDER VIDEOS 📺

GIF: YouTube

What’s new? YouTube is introducing a new AI-powered tool that upgrades the quality of older videos for TV viewing.

How does this work? This new feature uses AI to automatically enhance low-resolution videos, turning standard definition (SD) uploads into high-definition (HD) or even 4K. The tool identifies videos originally uploaded in less than 1080p and intelligently upscales them to look sharper on large screens. Importantly, creators keep full control—original versions stay intact, viewers can still choose the original resolution, and AI-enhanced versions are clearly labeled in settings. By using AI to give older content a visual boost, YouTube helps creators make their entire video library feel modern and polished without any extra work.

Introducing Voice AI Agents on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has always been where customers start conversations. Now, with Synthflow, those conversations can continue seamlessly over calls — answered directly by Voice AI Agents.

Enterprises can finally manage WhatsApp calls with the same automation, analytics, and security as phones.

The result: faster resolutions, 24/7 coverage, and a unified system for every customer call, whether it starts on telephony or WhatsApp.

QUALCOMM IS COMING FOR NVIDIA’S AI CHIP DOMINANCE 🦾

What’s new? Qualcomm just announced its first AI accelerator chips for data centers, directly challenging Nvidia’s dominance in the booming AI chip market.

Want the details? Qualcomm is shifting from smartphone chips to large-scale AI chips with two new models: the AI200 (coming in 2026) and AI250 (in 2027). These chips are designed for “inference,” meaning they run AI models rather than train them. Built using Qualcomm’s existing smartphone AI tech, they’ll be available in full server racks—just like Nvidia and AMD’s systems—with support for liquid cooling and high memory capacity (up to 768GB). Qualcomm claims its systems will be more energy-efficient and cheaper to run, giving cloud providers flexibility to mix and match components.

Why is this significant? This marks a big move into a fast-growing $6.7 trillion market, offering more options to companies relying on powerful chips to run AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude. More competition could drive down costs and spark faster innovation in AI infrastructure.

AI IS ABOUT TO FLOOD SOCIAL MEDIA (EVEN MORE) 📱

Image: Meta

What’s up? Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that even more AI-generated posts are coming to your social media feed.

Why? Zuckerberg explained that social media has shifted from mostly friend-based posts to influencer content. And now, AI-generated material will be the next wave. Tools like the new “Vibes” app already let users create AI-generated videos and images for social media, and more apps like it are on the way. Meta is also building systems that can better understand and recommend this kind of content. The idea is that AI will make it easier for people to create and remix content, leading to a much larger stream of attention-grabbing posts filling up your feeds.

Why should you care? Social media was once a place to be … well, social. However, as more AI-generated content enters the feeds, it will change what you see online and who creates it. Instead of posts from people or influencers, you might scroll through content made entirely by AI. That could shape trends, opinions, and even how we connect with each other.
