META’S CHATBOTS GET TOO FLIRTY 🙃
What happened? Meta removed AI chatbots that impersonated celebrities like Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, and Selena Gomez after they started producing flirty and sexual content.
Want the details? Meta’s platform lets users (and even employees) build custom chatbots using AI. Some people used this tool to create digital “versions” of celebrities. However, these AIs claimed to be the real celebrities, made sexual advances, and even generated explicit images. In some cases, bots of child actors also produced inappropriate pictures. Meta admitted its systems violated company policies and deleted the bots once the issue came to light.
Why is this significant? This shows how AI can blur the line between parody and impersonation in dangerous ways. It risks harming celebrities and violating human rights. It’s concerning that tools like this are not checked more strictly prior to public release.
WALMART UNVEILS 4 NEW AI AGENTS 🛒
What’s new? Walmart has unveiled four new AI-powered agents designed to help employees, suppliers, and shoppers.
What are the new AI agents?
Marty: Helps Walmart’s suppliers and sellers manage products and keep shelves stocked.
Sparky: Acts like a smart shopping buddy that can suggest items, fill your cart, and even reorder your usual groceries.
Associate Agent: Makes it easier for Walmart employees to check things like pay, schedules, and time off in one place.
Developer Agent: Supports Walmart’s tech teams by helping them build and run the company’s AI tools.
XAI RELEASES GROK CODE FAST 1 👨💻
What’s new? xAI has released grok-code-fast-1, a new AI model designed to make coding faster, cheaper, and smoother for developers.
Want the details? Most AI coding tools are powerful but slow. Grok-code-fast-1 is different. It was trained on real programming tasks and tuned to work smoothly in everyday developer tools like grep, terminal, and file editors. It’s especially strong in languages like Python, Java, and TypeScript. The model runs on new supercomputing methods and smart caching, which make it extremely quick—often finishing dozens of steps before you even finish reading its output. It’s also affordable, costing just $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.50 per million output tokens. For now, you can even try it free through partners like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Cline.
Fun fact: In AI, a token is just a little chunk of text the model uses to understand and generate language. Think of a sentence as a basket of french fries. Each fry could represent a word, part of a word, or even punctuation—that’s a token.
