What’s cookin’? Norway is putting a near-ban on AI in elementary schools, arguing that young kids need to master basic skills before leaning on chatbots. Starting in late August, students ages 6 to 13 will not be allowed to use AI in school. Students ages 14 to 16 can use it only with direct teacher supervision, while older students, ages 17 to 19, will be taught how to use AI responsibly for college and work. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said the concern is simple: children still need to learn how to read, write, and do math without shortcuts.

🤔 Hunter’s take: This feels less like Norway being anti-AI and more like Norway drawing a line around childhood. AI can be useful, but if kids use it before they build patience, memory, writing skills, and confidence, they may skip the hard parts that actually make them smarter. The interesting question is at what age it is appropriate to start introducing AI into the classroom, and how.

One AI employee. Engineering, finance, growth, ops.

Last week Viktor opened 14 pull requests, closed two month-end books, drafted a board update, deployed three landing pages, and triaged 600 support tickets. From inside Slack and Microsoft Teams. 20,000+ teams now run this way.

What’s cookin’? A new Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll found that most Americans still do not trust AI to give accurate and unbiased information about politics and current events. The survey found that 57% of voters trust AI “not very much” or “not at all” for news, with distrust showing up across Republicans, Democrats, and independents. The biggest gap is generational: younger voters are more open to AI, while older voters are more skeptical. Interestingly, people with higher incomes and college degrees were also more likely to trust AI.

🤔 Hunter’s take: Despite all the latest advancements, people are still uneasy about the results AI spits out. This raises the question: what will finally make people trust AI? If the answer is nothing, then where are people getting their information now that AI is beginning to infiltrate most news sources and search engines?
