PERSONALIZATION (AND EROTICA) ARE COMING TO CHATGPT 😳

What’s up? OpenAI CEO Sam Altman released a statement on X, stating that “a new version of ChatGPT” will be launched in the next few weeks that has a customizable personality as well as “adult” features.

Want the details? Since the launch of GPT-5, users have complained that this new version of ChatGPT is too robotic and lacks the personality exhibited by GPT-4o. The coming update will try to amend this. Altman stated, “If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it.” Surprisingly, however, Altman also added that this coming version of ChatGPT will be embedded with a “treat adult users like adults” principle, allowing “erotica for verified adults.”

GMAIL ADDS “HELP ME SCHEDULE” FEATURE 📧

What’s new? Google has introduced a new Gemini-powered tool in Gmail called “Help me schedule” that makes setting up meetings effortless.

How does it work? When you’re replying to an email about scheduling, Gmail automatically detects your intent and shows a “Help me schedule” button. With one click, Gemini reviews your Google Calendar and the email’s context to suggest ideal meeting times. These options appear directly in your reply, allowing the recipient to choose what works best. Once a time is selected, Gmail creates a calendar invite for everyone—no extra steps required. This removes one of the most tedious parts of work communication: the endless back-and-forth over meeting times.

FEDERAL JUDGE REPRIMANDS LAWYER FOR USING AI 😡

What happened? A federal judge in Alabama fined and reprimanded attorney James Johnson $5,000 for using AI to draft court filings that included fake legal citations.

Want the details? U.S. District Judge Terry Moorer issued an 18-page order criticizing Johnson for filing documents containing made-up case references generated by AI. Moorer said the misconduct went beyond recklessness and called it “just wrong.” The judge also ordered Johnson to inform current and future clients of the error and referred him to an advisory panel that may remove him from handling court-appointed criminal cases. Moorer noted that similar incidents have occurred nationwide, as some lawyers rely on AI tools without verifying their output.

Why is this significant? The case underscores a growing problem in the legal field: unverified use of generative AI. As AI tools become more common, judges are emphasizing that lawyers—not algorithms—remain responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity in court filings. Using AI is not forbidden. Leaving it unchecked, however, can be consequential.
