OPENAI DROPS CHATGPT ATLAS 🤯
What’s new? OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser with ChatGPT built directly into its core, now available on macOS.
How does it work? Atlas transforms browsing by making ChatGPT an active partner across the web. Instead of switching tabs to ask questions or summarize pages, ChatGPT now works directly inside your browser window—understanding what you’re viewing, helping you complete tasks, and remembering useful context. Features like browser memories let ChatGPT recall relevant details from sites you visit, while agent mode allows it to take actions for you, such as planning events or researching topics. All memory and visibility settings are user-controlled, with options for incognito browsing and data privacy.
Why is this significant? Atlas marks a shift from searching the web to working with it. By combining browsing, memory, and automation, it turns the internet into an intelligent workspace—one that learns from your habits and helps you get things done faster and smarter. Our FryAI team genuinely thinks this is one of the top AI releases of the year. You can install Atlas on MacOS now!
ANTHROPIC INTRODUCES CLAUDE FOR LIFE SCIENCES 🔬
What’s new? Anthropic has launched “Claude for Life Sciences,” a major upgrade that equips its AI assistant with tools, skills, and integrations tailored for scientific research and discovery.
How does it work? This upgrade, powered by the improved Claude Sonnet 4.5 model, can now handle every stage of the research process, from early discovery to commercialization. Through chat, it connects directly to major scientific platforms like Benchling, PubMed, BioRender, and 10x Genomics, letting researchers access data, literature, and visual resources seamlessly. Scientists can also use “Agent Skills” to teach Claude to perform specific lab tasks or data analyses, ensuring consistent, repeatable results.
Why is this significant? This upgrade moves AI closer to being an active research partner rather than just a tool for drafting or summarizing. By integrating with real scientific systems, Claude could help accelerate discoveries, reduce time-consuming manual work, and ultimately bring new treatments and technologies to the world faster.

OPENAI ALLEGEDLY SENDS POLICE TO REGULATION ADVOCATE’S HOUSE 😳
One Tuesday night, as my wife and I sat down for dinner, a sheriff’s deputy knocked on the door to serve me a subpoena from OpenAI.
I held back on talking about it because I didn't want to distract from SB 53, but Newsom just signed the bill so... here's what happened:

What’s up? Nathan Calvin, a lawyer at Encode AI, claims OpenAI sent a sheriff’s deputy to his home with a subpoena after he advocated for AI regulation in California.
Want the details? According to Calvin, OpenAI subpoenaed both him and his organization to obtain private messages with legislators, students, and former employees. The subpoenas were issued as part of OpenAI’s countersuit against Elon Musk, which alleges Musk used “bad-faith tactics” to slow the company down. Encode had previously supported California’s SB 53, a new law requiring large AI companies to disclose safety and security practices, and joined efforts questioning OpenAI’s corporate restructuring. The incident has sparked broader concerns about whether powerful AI companies are using legal tools to intimidate critics. As Calvin put it, “This is not normal.” If true, the move could signal a troubling shift in how AI giants handle scrutiny—raising new questions about power, transparency, and accountability in the industry.
