ZUCKERBERG: WEAR AI GLASSES OR FALL BEHIND 😎

What’s up? Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said AI glasses will soon become essential—and those without them may be at a “cognitive disadvantage.”

“I think in the future, if you don’t have glasses that have AI—or some way to interact with AI—I think you’re … probably [going to] be at a pretty significant cognitive disadvantage compared to other people.”

-Mark Zuckerberg

Want some context? Meta has been pouring money into smart glasses like its Ray-Ban and Oakley Meta models, which let users take photos, listen to music, and interact with Meta AI in real time. Zuckerberg believes adding displays to these glasses—showing information or even holograms—will make them the ultimate tool for daily life. His team at Reality Labs, despite nearly $70 billion in losses since 2020, continues to build toward this vision with next-gen prototypes like the Orion AR glasses.

Why should you care? If Zuckerberg is right, we’re heading toward a world where digital help is always in your line of sight—and not having it might leave you behind. Just like smartphones changed everything, AI wearables could be next.

ANTHROPIC CUTS OFF OPENAI’S ACCESS TO CLAUDE 🙅‍♀️

What happened? Anthropic has cut off OpenAI’s API access to its Claude models, citing violations of its terms of service.

Why? OpenAI had been using Claude’s API—rather than the public chat interface—to test Anthropic’s model against its own upcoming GPT-5, particularly in coding tasks and safety-related prompts. But Anthropic’s terms prohibit using its models to build or train competing AI systems, and they say OpenAI’s internal use of Claude crossed that line. OpenAI called the access cut “disappointing,” noting that its own APIs remain open to competitors, but Anthropic insists it will still allow limited access for benchmarking and safety evaluations.

Why is this significant? This move highlights growing tensions in the competitive AI race, where even industry norms—like testing rival models—are being reconsidered. With GPT-5 expected soon and Claude gaining popularity among developers, both companies are guarding their tech more closely. For users, this could signal a shift toward more closed ecosystems in the AI world.

GOOGLE BEGINS TO ROLL OUT “DEEP THINK” 🧠

What’s new? Google is rolling out Deep Think, its most advanced Gemini AI model, to Google AI Ultra subscribers, while also giving elite mathematicians access to a full research version used in the International Mathematical Olympiad.

How does it work? Deep Think is a version of Gemini 2.5 that extends the AI’s “thinking time” using parallel reasoning. This means the model can consider many possible answers at once, refine its ideas over time, and generate more creative, thoughtful responses—especially for complex tasks like coding, mathematical proofs, and scientific discovery. The model has already demonstrated impressive performance on expert-level benchmarks, and the version used in research achieved a gold-medal standard at the 2025 IMO.

Why does this matter? Deep Think pushes the boundaries of what AI can do in problem-solving, potentially accelerating innovation across science, math, and design. It’s also a preview of how more “thoughtful” AI tools might soon help professionals tackle today’s toughest intellectual challenges.
