AMD RELEASES NEW AI CHIP TO RIVAL NVIDIA 💾
Forget about chips. Could you imagine if AI was powered with French fries? 🍟
What’s new? AMD just unveiled its next-generation AI chips, the Instinct MI400 series, which will ship in 2026 and power massive “rack-scale” AI systems—with OpenAI as a key design partner and customer.
Want some details? AMD’s new chips can be stacked together into a huge unified system called Helios, which functions like one giant computer. This setup is perfect for running powerful AI models, like ChatGPT, while taking up less space. AMD says the MI400 chips also use less power, cost less to run, and can handle larger AI models faster—all while competing head-to-head with Nvidia’s market-leading chips.
Why does this matter? As AI tools become central to everything from search engines to self-driving cars, tech companies need faster and cheaper hardware to train and run these systems. AMD’s chips could lower costs, reduce energy use, and give companies a real alternative to Nvidia—who is backlogged with orders.
MIDJOURNEY (ILLEGALLY?) STEALS DISNEY’S MAGIC 🏰
Q: Why is Peter Pan flying all the time?
A: He Neverlands! 🧚♂️
What happened? Disney and Universal have filed a lawsuit against AI image generator Midjourney, accusing it of copyright infringement for creating and sharing images based on characters from films and shows like Star Wars, The Simpsons, Cars, and Shrek.
Want the details? This is the first major lawsuit from Hollywood targeting an AI company for using copyrighted content without permission. Disney and Universal claim Midjourney ignored cease-and-desist letters and continued generating images featuring characters from its popular movies and shows. The studios argue that Midjourney made hundreds of millions of dollars while freely using their intellectual property. They’re asking for a jury trial and will likely receive one soon.
“We are bullish on the promise of AI technology and optimistic about how it can be used responsibly as a tool to further human creativity. But piracy is piracy, and the fact that it’s done by an AI company does not make it any less infringing.”
Why is this significant? This case could set a major legal precedent for how AI tools are allowed to use copyrighted content. If big studios win, it may reshape how AI companies train and distribute creative content—and could change how AI-generated art is used and shared online.
YOUR META AI CONVOS MIGHT BE GETTING EXPOSED 😳
Hopefully Meta didn’t leak my secret French fry recipe! 😅
What happened? Some conversations users have with Meta AI—containing private legal, medical, or personal information—are being publicly exposed, often without the users realizing it.
Want the details? Meta AI, integrated across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and its standalone app, includes a “share” button that lets users post their chat to a public feed. But many people don’t realize they’re doing this. Public posts are then visible in the Meta AI Discover feed or on a user’s social media page, exposing everything from job disputes to confidential health issues. Though Meta claims users must complete multiple steps to share publicly, critics argue the process is unclear and lacks proper in-app warnings.
“Some users might unintentionally share sensitive info due to misunderstandings about platform defaults or changes in settings over time.”
Why should you care? With over a billion users, Meta AI is quickly becoming a major player in the AI space—but this privacy lapse raises serious concerns. If you’re using AI for personal matters, it’s critical to know how your data is handled—and how to keep it truly private.
