META PATENTS AI THAT LETS DEAD PEOPLE USE SOCIAL MEDIA 🤯
What’s up? Meta has been granted a patent for an AI system that could simulate a person’s social media activity — even after they die.
Want the details? The patent describes using a large language model trained on a user’s past posts, comments, likes, and messages to create a digital version of that person’s online personality. This AI “clone” could like posts, reply to comments, send direct messages, and even simulate video or audio conversations. The idea is that if someone stops posting — whether they’re taking a break or have passed away — their account could continue interacting with others.
Why should you care? Meta says it has no current plans to build this product, and that patents often describe ideas that never become real tools. But this raises the question: why bother with the patent if you’re really not going to implement it? The concept raises big questions. It touches on grief, privacy, and what it means to truly be gone. For some, a digital version of a loved one could bring comfort. For others, it may blur emotional boundaries and make it harder to accept loss.
CLAUDE PLAYED A ROLE IN MADURO’S CAPTURE 🤖
What’s happened: The U.S. military reportedly used Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to help capture former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro.
What does this mean? Claude is a large AI system that can understand and generate text, analyze information, and help make sense of complex data. The report says the military accessed Claude through a partnership between Anthropic and the software company Palantir Technologies, which works closely with U.S. defense and law enforcement. It’s not clear exactly how Claude was used in the mission, only that it was part of a classified operation
Why is this significant? This is a high-profile example of commercial AI being linked to real military action, raising questions about ethical limits, oversight, and how far AI companies will let their tools be used. Many people worry about AI in warfare, while others see it as a powerful tool that could benefit those with advanced technology.
