CHATGPT NOW REMEMBERS EVERYTHING YOU SAY 🧠

ChatGPT, like your ex-girlfriend, remembers everything you’ve done wrong. 😆

What’s new? ChatGPT can now remember and reference all of your past chats to provide more personalized responses.

Want more details? This extends ChatGPT’s memory beyond previously saved user details like your name or preferences. Now, the chatbot can automatically draw on past chats to tailor responses to your tone, interests, and goals without you having to prompt it. This new memory feature is currently available for ChatGPT Plus and Pro users and will roll out soon to Team, Enterprise, and Edu accounts. This makes ChatGPT feel more like a helpful, ongoing assistant—remembering your needs, style, and questions—but it also raises privacy concerns. Thankfully, OpenAI is still giving users some control over what the AI remembers and when. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was sure to note, “You can of course opt out of this, or memory all together. And you can use temporary chat if you want to have a conversation that won't use or affect memory.”

“This is a surprisingly great feature in my opinion, and it points at something we are excited about: AI systems that get to know you over your life, and become extremely useful and personalized.”

-Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO

YOUTUBE ROLLS OUT “MUSIC ASSISTANT” FOR CREATORS 🎶

Q: Did you hear about the famous YouTuber who got very sick?

A: She got “influenza.” 😷

What’s new? YouTube is rolling out a free AI-powered “Music assistant” that generates custom instrumental tracks for creators to use as background music without having to worry about copyright issues.

How does this work? The tool, now in beta, appears under a new tab in YouTube Studio’s Creator Music section. In a demonstration posted on YouTube’s Creator Insider channel (above), users were shown how they can type a prompt like “uplifting music for a workout montage,” and the assistant will generate several instrumental options to preview and download. This lets creators add unique, royalty-free background music to their videos without needing to license existing songs. The rollout is gradual and currently limited to users who already have access to Creator Music.

Why is this important? This gives creators more freedom and peace of mind when adding music to their videos, avoiding copyright claims that can hurt revenue or take videos down. It also signals YouTube’s deeper investment in generative AI for creative tools.

WHITE HOUSE PAUSES FURTHER RESTRICTIONS ON AI CHIP EXPORTS 🫷

Note: Image created with AI

People in the White House have gotten very friendly over the past few years. They are always walking around saying, “Pardon me.” 😆

What happened? The Trump administration has paused plans to impose further restrictions on Nvidia’s H20 AI chip exports to China, following a Mar-a-Lago dinner attended by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Want the details? The H20 chip, Nvidia’s most advanced AI chip legally exportable to China, had been on the verge of facing new U.S. restrictions. As a result, Chinese firms had already stockpiled $16 billion worth of them in anticipation of restrictions. Lawmakers had pushed for tighter controls after a powerful Chinese AI chatbot (DeepSeek) shocked the global tech community. But after the Mar-a-Lago dinner, sources say the White House reversed course, partly due to Nvidia’s pledge to invest in U.S.-based AI data centers and due to the tariffs being slapped on these invaluable goods.

Why is this significant? This move highlights the deep ties between U.S. tech giants and geopolitics. By delaying export controls, the U.S. gains leverage in trade wars by preserving influence over China’s AI development, while at the same time, Nvidia gains time in a crucial market.
