CEO SURVEY SHOWS AI AS “TOP PRIORITY INVESTMENT” 🤑

Q: Do you know why the European stock markets are sliding down?
A: Greece. 📉
What’s new? A survey of United States CEOs found that 72% of U.S. CEOs say generative AI is a "top investment priority."
Who was surveyed? The survey was conducted by the KPMG and consisted of 400 U.S. CEOs at companies in a wide range of sectors with annual revenue of at least $500 million.
What else was found? Some surprising results revealed that if the CEOs had their way, workers would be back in the office despite the advancements of AI:
62% say they expect a return on their AI investments in 3 to 5 years, while only 21% expect a return in 1 to 3 years, which reveals a long-range vision for AI implementation and adoption.
62% said they envision their staff working permanently at the office within three years, up from 34% a year ago.
Only 4% envision their teams as fully remote, down from 20% in 2022, while 34% expect to have a hybrid workforce, down from 45%.
CANVA TAKES CONTENT CREATION TO A NEW LEVEL 🦾

Content creation and design have never been easier! 🙌
What’s new? Canva, the popular web-based design platform, is celebrating its 10th birthday in style with the release of Magic Studio: a revolutionary suite of AI-powered design tools to help automate various aspects of content creation. Magic Studio is described by Canva as "the world’s most comprehensive AI-design platform," aimed at both organizations and individuals, regardless of their prior design experience.
What are the new features? One standout feature is Magic Switch, a tool that effortlessly transforms existing designs into different formats, be it converting a blog post into an email or a social media graphic, all without manual adjustments. Furthermore, it can automatically translate content into 100+ languages, streamlining multichannel campaigns and saving enormous amounts of time. Powered by Runway AI, this tool also enables the generation of short videos from text or existing images, providing versatile content creation options for users. Additionally, Canva has integrated OpenAI's DALL-E and Google's Imagen into its app marketplace for those seeking alternative AI image generation tools. This feature of the release also includes new photo editing tools like Magic Grab, which simplifies subject selection, and Magic Expand, which extends images beyond their frames.
How are they protecting privacy? Canva has committed $200 million to compensate designers who consent to their work being used to train the company's AI models. Additionally, in conjunction with Magic Studio, Canva is introducing Canva Shield, which is a suite of safety and privacy controls to prevent the misuse of AI for inappropriate content. It includes AI indemnification for enterprise customers and enhanced administrative controls.
DISTURBING “AI ART” OF KIRBY CAUSES CONCERN 😧

AI image creation is so awesome, but sometimes it causes one to step back and wonder. 😐
What’s up? Users have exploited Microsoft’s Bing Image Creator to create images of beloved characters like Nintendo’s Kirby engaging in questionable scenarios, such as flying planes into skyscrapers.
Where does the problem lie? Companies like Microsoft and Google are investing heavily in “AI art,” but the real challenge lies in controlling what users create with these tools. Microsoft's Bing Image Creator, for instance, has been a subject of both fascination and concern since its inception in March. This tool allows users to generate images based on text inputs, but the problem at hand is that AI lacks the ability to comprehend context, intent, or the reasons behind content creation. As a result, users can manipulate AI-generated images to convey messages that the creators never intended. Microsoft is aware of the issue and is actively working on implementing safeguards and filters aligned with responsible AI principles.
