APPLE INTRODUCES “LIQUID GLASS” 💧
Q: Why couldn’t the apple cross the road?
A: It ran out of juice. 🍎
What’s new? Apple has introduced a new software design powered by a new visual material called Liquid Glass.
How does this work? Powered by AI, Liquid Glass is a dynamic, translucent material that behaves like real glass—reflecting and refracting its surroundings while smoothly adapting to what you’re doing. It gives buttons, tabs, and toolbars a sense of depth and motion, reshaping itself based on content and lighting. This new design language stretches across everything from the Lock Screen and Home Screen to apps like Safari, Camera, and FaceTime. It’s all designed to be more immersive, more personal, and instantly familiar—making interactions with AI-powered features feel seamless and natural. Liquid Glass is reportedly coming soon to iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26.
“[Liquid glass] lays the foundation for new experiences in the future and, ultimately, it makes even the simplest of interactions more fun and magical.”
ANTHROPIC RELEASES CLAUDE GOV FOR NATIONAL SECURITY 🇺🇸
Q: What is a hacker’s favorite hobby?
A: Phishing. 🎣
What’s new? Anthropic has introduced Claude Gov, a special set of AI models designed specifically for U.S. national security agencies.
Want some details? Built with input from government partners, Claude Gov models offer advanced capabilities for tasks like intelligence analysis, threat detection, strategic planning, and cybersecurity. These AI models are tailored for use in classified environments and are already in use by top-level national security agencies. They are better at working with sensitive information, understanding complex defense documents, and processing languages important to global security. Like all of Anthropic’s AI, they were tested thoroughly for safety and reliability.
Why is this significant? This shows how AI can be responsibly customized for high-stakes situations. With stronger tools designed specifically for national security, agencies can make faster, smarter decisions—while still keeping safety and privacy standards front and center. It’s a big step toward trustworthy AI in sensitive government work.
“This builds on our commitment to bring responsible and safe AI solutions to our U.S. national security customers, with custom models that are built to address the unique needs of classified environments.”
CHINA SHUTS DOWN AI FOR STUDENTS 👩🎓
Q: Why don’t they have magic classes in school?
A: They are too tricky. 🪄
What happened? Chinese AI companies, including major ones like Alibaba and ByteDance, have temporarily turned off certain features on their chatbots to stop students from cheating on national college entrance exams.
Why? These companies have either blocked their chatbots from “seeing” and answering questions from test papers or have completely shut down photo-recognition features during the exam hours. This action is an extra step to prevent cheating, as millions of students take these critical exams to get into university. For China, where getting into college depends entirely on these tough exams, preventing AI cheating is crucial to make sure the process is fair for everyone.
Want some drama? While Chinese companies are disabling AI during exams, companies like Google and OpenAI made their advanced AI models free for students during final exams. This shows how differently AI companies in the U.S. and China are handling AI’s use in education.
