AI-POWERED LEUKEMIA VACCINE COMING SOON? 💉

Are we about to witness one of the greatest healthcare revolutions of all time? 🙏

What’s going on? Angelos Stergiou, CEO of SELLAS Life Sciences, recently shared that his company is close to finalizing a leukemia vaccine, emphasizing that AI-driven treatments could soon transform cancer care.

How will this work? Stergiou noted that the key to this type of medicine is the personalization of treatment, made possible by AI. He explained, “Where AI comes into play is where it’s going to allow us to do things expeditiously, and it’s going to be more personalized. In other words, if you have a patient with a cancer, we can then use AI to do a genomic sequencing and, with the results, we can then either create a specific vaccine or treatment, or we can say this specific treatment will work for the patient.” Stergiou predicts the first of these specialized leukemia vaccines could be available within three to four years. However, Stergiou warned that AI is only as good as the data it uses, requiring careful input from the medical community.

“I think it’s going to be a revolutionary decade in medicine and in clinical research.”

PAUL MCCARTNEY SPEAKS OUT ON NEW AI LAW 📢

I have a bunch of old Beatles records stored in my “Lennon” closet. 😆

What’s up? Paul McCartney has voiced strong opposition to a potential change in U.K. copyright laws surrounding AI, warning it could allow tech companies to misuse artists’ work. This predicament mirrors similar copyright issues in the United States, emphasizing a global concern for creative professionals.

Want the details? The U.K. government is considering letting tech firms use copyrighted material to train AI models unless creators specifically opt out. Britain’s center-left Labour Party government says this proposed legislation aims to make the U.K. a leader in AI innovation while balancing creators’ rights. However, artists and organizations, including the Creative Rights in AI Coalition, oppose weakening copyright protections. McCartney, the former Beatle, asserted that such a law would strip artists of control over their creations. “Young artists write a beautiful song, and suddenly anyone can rip it off,” McCartney said, emphasizing that profits from creative works should benefit the artists, not tech giants.

“We’re the people, you’re the government. You’re supposed to protect us. That’s your job. So you know, if you’re putting through a bill, make sure you protect the creative thinkers, the creative artists, or you’re not going to have them.”

-Paul McCartney, musician

OPENAI UPDATES CANVAS FEATURE 💬

Attention coding nerds: it’s time to get excited! 🚨

What’s up? OpenAI announced major updates to its Canvas feature, including integration with the o1 model.

What is Canvas? Canvas is a collaborative tool in ChatGPT where users and the AI can work together. It opens as a pop-up window in ChatGPT, allowing users to edit text, write code, or refine AI-generated content. Think of it as a shared workspace that makes it easier to fine-tune responses or build projects alongside the AI.

What is new? The o1 AI model, known for advanced reasoning, is now available in Canvas for paid plans like Plus, Teams, and Pro. Canvas has also been added to the ChatGPT app for iPhone, no longer limited to web browsers. Developers get an extra boost too, with new support for HTML and React coding, alongside existing languages like Python and JavaScript. Free users can use these Canvas features but won’t have access to the o1 model integration yet.
