Q: Are glass coffins the latest fashion trend?
A: Remains to be seen. 👁️
What’s up? Paris Fashion Week witnessed a fusion of fashion and technology as Humane, a mysterious tech company, showcased their latest innovation: the AI Pin. This intriguing device, shrouded in mystery until now, made its debut as it adorned the attire of Coperni models during the presentation.
What is the pin? Humane's much-anticipated debut product, the "AI Pin," is set to redefine the wearable tech landscape. Described as a "connected and intelligent clothing-based wearable device," it promises to offer unique AI-driven personal computing experiences. This device is designed to seamlessly integrate into users' daily lives, offering privacy-focused interactions without the need for constant voice activation. It remains unclear whether the AI Pin is self-contained, supports third-party apps, or how it's operated.
What is Humane? Humane, a company founded by former Apple employees Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri in 2017, has been making waves in the tech world with its mysterious approach to product development. Operating under a shroud of secrecy for the past few years, the company has managed to generate considerable hype and secure over $230 million in funding from major players like Tiger Global Management, SoftBank Group, and Qualcomm Ventures. One of its prominent backers also includes Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI.
Will this be successful? Whether the AI Pin lives up to the hype and becomes a game-changer in wearable technology will only become clear once it's in the hands of consumers. Until then, the world eagerly awaits the more detailed unveiling of this mysterious and promising innovation.
META ADDRESSES PRIVACY CONCERNS 🧐

Meta decided to preemptively address privacy concerns … which might actually a bit concerning in and of itself. 🙃
What happened? Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has been blasted with privacy concerns in the past. After their latest announcement of the Meta AI virtual assistant, they aptly revealed insights into its approach to training the assistant, emphasizing a commitment to respecting user privacy.
How was it trained? According to Nick Clegg, Meta's President of Global Affairs, the company utilized public Facebook and Instagram posts as training data but explicitly excluded private posts shared only with friends and family. Clegg stated, "We've tried to exclude datasets that have a heavy preponderance of personal information," highlighting that the "vast majority" of the data used was publicly available.
Why the need for this comment? Clegg's comments come at a time when tech companies are under scrutiny for using internet-scraped data to train AI models. Privacy concerns and copyright issues have raised questions about how these companies handle private or copyrighted materials reproduced by their AI systems. This preemptive move by Meta might come as comfort to some, but the fact that Clegg was unable to say the data used to train the AI assistant was “completely” publicly available does cause others to raise an eyebrow.
NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY ANNOUNCES “AI SECURITY CENTER” 🦾

National security is ramping up their AI game! 👊
What’s up? National Security Agency (NSA) Director Army General Paul M. Nakasone has unveiled a significant development in the field of national security: the creation of the “AI Security Center.” This new entity is set to play a pivotal role in overseeing the integration and secure implementation of AI capabilities within the United States national security apparatus.
How will it work? The AI Security Center will become a hub for establishing best practices, evaluation methodologies, and risk frameworks that will ensure the safe adoption of AI technologies across the national security sector and defense industry. By consolidating various AI-related security activities within the agency, it seeks to streamline efforts and foster collaboration with key stakeholders, including U.S. industry partners, national laboratories, academia, the intelligence community, and select foreign allies.
"We must build a robust understanding of AI vulnerabilities foreign intelligence threats to these AI systems and ways to encounter the threat in order to have AI security. We must also ensure that malicious foreign actors can't steal America's innovative AI capabilities to do so."
